[Coverage] 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA (EXHIBITION)

Kuala Lumpur, November 2022 - More than 27,000 people attended the MOKKOJI KOREA Hallyu Lifestyle Festival. Fans of Hallyu culture gathered in Kuala Lumpur on November 12 and 13 to learn more about the Korean way of life and culture. Fans were also treated to live performances by top-tier K-Pop artists such as Moonbin & Sanha, Jeon Somi, and BLANK2Y.

MITEC was transformed into a hub for Hallyu-enthusiasts with an immense passion for Korean cultures, ranging from Korean dramas, webtoons, to Korean cuisine, Hangeul, and lifestyle, over the last weekend (12th and 13th November 2022). The two-day exhibition was organised by The Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) and the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

"The MOKKOJI KOREA Festivalshowcases a wide range of Korean lifestyles." It gives us great pleasure to host MOKKOJI Korea this year in Kuala Lumpur. Many Malaysians are becoming more interested in Korea as they take courses to learn the Korean language, listen to K-Pop music, and wish to attend Korean universities. More exciting events and upcoming projects await us, and we are confident that our partnership with Malaysia will only strengthen from here," said the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE).

Visitors had the opportunity to sample some of the most well-known, mouth-watering, and flavorful Korean dishes such as gimbap, japchae, tteokbokki, and bulgogi over the course of the two-day exhibition. Visitors could also dress up as their favourite characters from movies or webtoons and take pictures to share with their friends. Aside from that, many folk performances and games provided visitors with a better understanding of traditional Korean culture.

Attendees at the mini stage learned how to make the famous Korean side dish - Kimchi - with K-Food Cooking Class, or joined a Korean make-up style tutorial led by their in-house makeup artist.

Kuala Lumpur, November 2022 – During the recent 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA, our team from wljack.com was honoured to be given the opportunity to interview Ms Choi Yuri, Culture Exchange Team Director for Korean Foundation of International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE).

Thank you for bringing MOKKOJI KOREA to Malaysia. Any specific reason that Malaysia was chosen as one of the destination for MOKKOJI KOREA to take place in?

Answer by Ms. Choi Yuri: Korean drama and Kpop are popular among Malaysians. It is a country with a high level of interest and physical exchange. We are well aware of Malaysia's fascinating attitude and support for K-waves. MOKKOJI KOREA is here to share fun activities together with the fans.

2) Question by Media

Is there any particular reason for MOKKOJI KOREA's focus on Uzbekistan and Malaysia for the global event in 2022?

Answer by Ms. Choi Yuri: Both Uzbekistan and Malaysia have a long history of friendship with South Korea. Uzbekistan received a positive response from fans in September 2022. This time, we are touched by the overwhelming response from Malaysian fans.

Seeing the success of MOKKOJI KOREA here in Malaysia. Will there be any possibilities for MOKKOJI KOREA to take place again in Malaysia in the future?

Answer by Ms. Choi Yuri: MOKKOJI KOREA is always looking for new places to visit. Despite the fact that it has been a huge success in Malaysia, MOKKOJI KOREA will not be returning next year. MOKKOJI KOREA plans to visit other countries in Europe, Asia, and South America in the near future. Knowing how much support there is in Malaysia, we hope to return in the future. Memories will last until then. Please keep in mind how much fun we have here in MOKKOJI KOREA in Malaysia.

Many Malaysians are Kpop and Korean culture fans. Will there be any opportunities for Malaysian Kpop/Korean fans to take part in any competition in future MOKKOJI KOREA events in order to gain anaccess into the industry?

Answer by Ms. Choi Yuri: Without a doubt, yes. In fact, a Kpop Dance competition was held during MOKKOJI KOREA in Malaysia. Many participants have demonstrated their abilities in the manner of true Kpop stars. MOKKOJI KOREA definitely hopes to provide more opportunities in the future.

 [Exclusive Interview] Interview Jeon Somi @ 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA in MALAYSIA

Kuala Lumpur, November 2022 - Our team fromwljack.comwas honoured to be given the exclusive opportunity to interview popular Kpop Idol Jeon Somi at the recent 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA.

1) What is the difference between being a soloist and being in a group?

Jeon Somi: There is a difference, as being a soloist, I can finish work earlier because it is only me. If I'm in a group, I have to wait for everyone else to leave. That's one of the differences I could say.

2) Each of your songs has garnered a lot of attention. Is there any inspiration behind the concepts?

Jeon Somi: Every song represents me at the time it was written. It's sort of like a diary and inspiration from my life at the time.

3) Aside from singing, is there anything you would like to try in the future? For example, like acting?

Jeon Somi: For sure. However, for the time being, I would like to concentrate on singing, dancing, and performing. I'd like to act someday in the future. I have a black belt in Taekwando. I think I will be good in an action movie.

4) How do you feel about the life in Malaysia?

Jeon Somi: Actually, this is my first visit, and I'm leaving tonight (the same day as the interview). I don't have the time to immerse myself in the culture, food, and outdoor activities. I'd like to go on a tour to learn about and experience the culture. I guess that's another reason for me to return soon. I've always known that Malaysian fans have been extremely supportive of me. I am aware of this, and I am happy to be here for the first time.

7) Warm welcomed to Malaysia. Since your time of visit in Malaysia is very short, did you manage to learn any Bahasa Malaysia that you would like to tell your fans?

Jeon Somi: “Apa Khabar?”

On the spot, Jeon Somi has demonstrated her quick grasp on language. She learnt “Saya Cinta Padamu” and “Saya Akan Rindu Kamu” which she would like to tell the fans. She wanted to tell the Malaysia fans that she will miss them!

 [Coverage] 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA (CONCERT)

Kuala Lumpur, November 2022 – The MOKKOJI Concert on 13 November 2022, featuring K-Pop icons Moonbin & Sanha, Jeon Somi, and BLANK2Y, was undoubtedly the highlight of 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA. Despite the hall's limited seating capacity of 3,000, more than 27,000 people attended the MOKKOJI concert, as excited fans came to see their favourite artists perform live.

Aside from the headlining artists, the show also included Kpop dance performances and a Taekwondo stage performance.

With their upbeat and energetic Kpop songs, all three groups of Kpop icons have definitely elevated the atmosphere of the venue!

Furthermore, during a short intermission interview between their performances, BLANK2Y, Jeon Somi, Moonbin & Sanha shared some of their K-lifestyle. It was interesting to see BLANK2Y talked about Korean cultural dances, while Jeon Somi showed how to make Korean traditional tea. Moonbin & Sanha, on the other hand, have played the traditional South Korean game Tuho on stage, as well as shown the fans how they would look in Hanbok.

Overall, 2022 MOKKOJI KOREA @ MALAYSIA was a huge success, and it was an excellent opportunity to promote cultural exchange between South Korea and Malaysia.

 [Concert Coverage] EPIK HIGH IS HERE - KUALA LUMPUR

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022 - Organised by CK Star Entertainment, Epik High (에픽하이) brought their"Epik High Is Here — Asia Pacific Tour"to Zepp KL on 2^ndDecember 2022. The show began promptly at 8 p.m., and the heat and excitement never stopped from there onwards!

Tablo, Mirtha Jin, and DJ Tukutz got everyone going right away. All of the old school hip hop beats were blasted to the audience brimming with energy in Zepp KL due to the intimate venues with great audio system! The atmosphere heated up when Tablo promised to turn the audience's lows, such as worries, anger, and frustration, into highs!

Epik High's riveting performance has wowed audiences with their insane rapping, charism, and flow! One of the night's highlights was undoubtedly the performance of "Rosario," when the audience erupted in joy!

Tablo inquired whether there were any South Korean fans present that night. A few of them did, in fact, raise their hands. "You know...you can always see our shows in South Korea!" said the rapper. This amusing moment made the entire audience laugh, but they were actually grateful for the support of these fans who travelled from all over the world to see their performances.

Many more awesome beats were performed throughout the night, including "Super Rare,""Bleed,""Love Love Love,""One," and many more. They also demonstrated their comedic side and sense of humour through their interactions with fans.

Time flies when everyone is having fun, and the show came to a close with songs like "Fan,""High Technology,""New Beautiful,"and "Don't Hate Me." The trio exited the stage after announcing their final songs. The fans screamed for more and shouted "encore!" as expected. Epik High did not disappoint their fans when they returned to the stage to perform their encore songs "No Thankxxx" and "Born Hater"!

Genting Highlands, December 2022 – 《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2022》Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition has come to an end on 3^rdDecember 2022 and Yu Xiang宇翔was crowned as the champion for the competition. 黄碧莲was the first runner up while 谭祖健was the second runner up! In addition to that, the combo team of 彭奕聪and 徐紫瑄has received "MahSing Popularity Award" as voted by the audiences.

The finale this year was divided into three rounds. After completing the first and second rounds of "own selection song 自选曲" and "classics collaboration songs 经典能量团助力" . 黄碧莲initially while 宇翔followed closely behind by 0.3 points. 谭祖健was able to be ranked among the top three with his excellent song selection and consistent performance. During the third round, the top three contestants' scores will be reset to zero. The three will perform a self-chosen "champion song 冠军歌". 《耶利亚女郎》was the winning champion song for 宇翔.

During the post competition interview, Yu Xiang宇翔stated that Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2022》Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition has always been a dream stage for Malaysian singing enthusiasts. He felt satisfied with the outcome. Although the competition has ended, it is a new beginning for him to continue singing! At the same time, he revealed that he intends to hold a charity concert with his senior 天翔and he hopes to invite the top seven contestants to participate together. He also took the opportunity to thank his mother, who always encouraged him to sing. He also thanked 天翔, who accompanied and supported him throughout the process! Lastly, he also thanked all of his supporters.

黄碧莲was the fans favourite this year after making judge郑国亮stated that she’s the Champion in his perspective during the semi-finals. She expressed, "I have done my best in this competition, and winning the runner-up is also considered a good result for herself". She also revealed that she lost her voice before the finale and that she tried her hardest to control her diet so that she could recover as soon as possible and keep her voice in the best condition. Thus, after the competition, the first thing she wants to do is to reward herself via eating and drinking!

谭祖健took the second runner-up place and stated that he did not set any goals for himself since the start of the competition. He became more motivated only upon reaching the finale. From there onwards, he was full of fighting spirit and hoped to finish in the top three. The accomplishment has made him very happy, and he hopes to arrange a family trip in the future to compensate for the time he was unable to accompany his family during the competition.

Aside from the top 3 winners, the other finalists who have successfully advanced to the finale were黄文亮, 黄达洁, duo group彭奕聪and徐紫瑄, and duo group周志勇and陈文伟.

宇翔现场呼声最高成功夺冠         黄碧莲、谭祖健分别拿下亚军与季军

《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2022》总决赛「巅峰站」圆满落幕，发片歌手归零参赛的宇翔在总决赛舞台上竭尽全力，赢得满堂喝彩以现场呼声最高之姿夺得冠军头衔！实力同样不俗的黄碧莲则与冠军失之交臂只能坐亚望冠，而选曲经常给人带来惊喜的谭祖健也越战越勇成功跻身三甲夺得季军！此外，由彭奕聪与徐紫瑄组成的奇遇组合也获得由全民投选的「MahSing人气奖」。

今年总决赛的共分三个回合，黄碧莲在首回合「自选曲」和第二回合「经典能量团助力」比拼完成后，以全场最高分之姿率先晋身三甲位置的第三回合；而宇翔仅以0.3分之差紧随在后夺得‘三甲入门券’，谭祖健则以出色选曲以及平稳表现跻身三甲。尽管如此，进入第三回合后3强分数将自动归零，三人各自演唱一首自选‘冠军歌’，宇翔以一首《耶利亚女郎》成功出线夺得冠军殊荣，为自己赢得3万令吉奖金和冠军奖座！

宇翔（46岁，彭亨）赛后受访时表示，《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛》（后称《经典》）向来是大马歌唱爱好者的梦想舞台，经历4个月紧凑的赛事他终于为自己交出漂亮的成绩单，虽然比赛结束但对他而言这是歌唱道路的新起点！同时，他也透露赛后计划与其师兄天翔开办慈善演唱会，届时希望可以再召集7强选手一起参与。另外，他也不忘借机向一直栽培支持他唱歌的母亲、从甄选开始一路陪伴支持他的师兄天翔以及其支持者表示感谢。

曾在半决赛上让评审郑国亮大喊“是心目中冠军”的黄碧莲（47岁，沙巴）也同属本届大热门之一，她直言自己已为比赛拼尽全力了，拿到亚军也算是给自己一个很好的交待了，尽管饮恨冠军也毫无遗憾了。她还透露曾在决赛前失声，为了尽快复原维持声音最佳状态有极力在控制饮食，因此比赛结束后她最首要想做的就是大吃大喝犒劳自己！获得季军的谭祖健（46岁，雪兰莪）则表示原在比赛初期都没有给自己定下任何目标，唯有在晋身总决赛后才燃气他满满斗志期许自己要至少拼入三甲，现目标已达成已让他非常心满意足了，希望之后可以安排家族旅行弥补前阵子参赛没能陪伴家人的时光。

除了冠亚季军得主外，成功晋级《经典》「巅峰站」的7强决赛人马还包括黄文亮（49岁，森美兰）、黄达洁（45岁，吉隆坡），以及首度开先例的双人组合– 奇遇组合彭奕聪（51岁，槟城）与徐紫瑄（52岁，彭亨）和兄弟组合周志勇（52岁，霹雳）与陈文伟（50岁，霹雳）。

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022 - Malaysian songstress Datuk Sheila Majid is taking the stage again for a big band concert six years after her sold-out solo concert at Stadium Negara.

《Sheila Majid BIG BAND Live in Kuala Lumpur》on 18 March 2023, will feature a spectrum of 23 musicians, including 13 horn players, seven band members, and three backup singers, invigorating Sheila's performance that night.

Fans can expect to hear some of Sheila's greatest hits, including "Sinaran", "Antara Anyer dan Jakarta", and "Memori", which will be arranged by renowned music director Mac Chew. Jennifer Thompson, a music producer, will direct the concert.

The concert will take place at the Dewan Merdeka, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur— a historic venue for Sheila, as it was the site of her first ever concert in support of her 1988 album Warna.

The jazz orchestra concert will be held exclusively for one night only, making it even more special and preserving the magic of the show. Sheila's most recent studio album, "Boneka", was released in 2017. It arrived 13 years after chart-topping album Cinta Kita in 2004.

睽违6年重返演唱会舞台  茜拉玛吉携手23人大乐队开唱

《Sheila Majid BIG BAND Live in Kuala Lumpur》门票12.12公开发售

马来乐坛天后拿督茜拉玛吉（Sheila Majid）时隔6年，将于2023年3月18日再度举办大型售票演唱会。为了报答歌迷朋友对她的支持，茜拉玛吉精心准备节目内容，并首次出动23人大乐队（BIG BAND）。

茜拉玛吉1985年以首张专辑《Dimensi Baru》出道，多年来累积多首经典作品，包括《Sinaran》、《Pengemis Muda》、《Antara Anyer Dan Jakarta》等。她于2007年与林宇中合唱《Melody》后，相隔15年再度演唱由林宇中词曲创作的《Wira Hatiku》，该曲被选为抗疫电影《JUANG》主题曲外，日前也在《第32届马来西亚电影节》荣获最佳电影主题曲奖。

已有6年没开唱的茜拉玛吉，自2017年的《Sheila Majid The Concert Kuala Lumpur》后，决定重返舞台举办《Sheila Majid BIG BAND Live in Kuala Lumpur 2023》演唱会。除了邀来曾为多位马来天王天后制作演唱会的Jennifer Thompson担任演唱会总监外，大马知名音乐人Mac Chew也将领军13位号手、7位乐手和3位和音老师为茜拉玛吉伴奏，这也是茜拉玛吉第一次在大乐队的陪同下演出。

 [Coverage] Pinkfong Baby Shark Has Arrived! The Mysterious Treasure @ Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022 – "The Pinkfong Baby Shark Is Here!" The Mysterious Treasure"took place on 10^thDecember 2022, at the Arena Of Stars, Resorts World Genting, and it was a fun show, especially for the kids!

Not only has Baby Shark appeared on the show, but so haveMommy and Daddy Shark. Pinkfong and Hogi were also added to Baby Shark's team! Along with them are thehermit crab, the octopus, and a slew of other fishy pals! It was a real treat for the kids to see their favourite animated characters LIVE on stage!

The show has featured a wide range of performances, including dancing, singing, and character interactions. It was a wonderful moment when they performed the most viewed music video on YouTube, "Baby Shark Dance," on stage! The entire audience was singing along to "Baby shark doo-doo doo-doo." There were also many other nursery rhymes that are performed on stage.

There was a brief intermission between performances during which there were videos from YouTube Originals featuring Pinkfong's Baby Shark animation.

Aside from the performance, the show also included a lovely setting of Reefville, where the characters are on a treasure hunt. The entire show also takes the audience on a riddle-solving journey in search of the treasure. The final result of their discovery of the treasure was a meaningful message, especially for the young children.

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022 – The new date for the DIMASH QUDAIBERGEN LIVE IN MALAYSIA concert has been set by ACO MEDIA, METALIVE WORLD, and AMM. The concert was originally scheduled to take place on 19^th November 2022 (Saturday). However, due to the concert falling on the day of the 2022 Malaysian General Election (GE15), the organisers decided to postpone the concert.

Since he entered the entertainment industry in 2010, when he was only five years old, he has won numerous international singing competitions and, as a result, he has gained popularity in many countries around the world. Dimash is the runner-up of the Chinese Hunan TV competition series "Singer 2017"because he displayed remarkable opera singing and dolphin voice abilities during the competition.

张信哲2 月11 及12日云顶世界开唱品味“爱就懂了”

MIC娱乐盛情主办，T.O.P协办，睽违3年的“情歌王子”张信哲，将在明年农历新年后再来马来西亚开唱！继2019年世界巡回演唱会，阿哲订于明年2月11及12日，一连两天在云顶世界云星剧场举行“爱就懂了” 音乐会，站在熟悉的舞台为久没见面的粉丝献声，除了演绎历年百听不腻的“哲式情歌”经典神曲，必将唤醒大家共同的情怀，追忆大家年少青涩、懵懂的青春回忆，也会带给粉丝新的音乐感受。

被誉为华语乐坛重要代表人物的阿哲，于1996年获得第7届台湾金曲奖最佳“国语”男歌手奖，出道以来创造无数经典代表作，例如《爱如潮水》、《宽容》、《过火》、《别怕我伤心》、《白月光》、《不要对他说》、《难以抗拒你容颜》等等，至今依然广受粉丝喜爱。

（吉隆14日訊）港星薛家燕、曹永廉、麥美恩、黃子恆、江嘉敏和大L合作古裝賀歲喜劇《黃金萬両》後，將於明年3 月25 日（星期六）來馬舉辦《送給你黃金萬兩演唱會》，屆時除了大拋笑彈、與大馬觀眾分享拍攝趣事外，也會帶來首首動聽的粵語歌曲。

 [Exclusive Interview] Ruco Chan 陳展鵬 Interview @ Astro Bukit Jalil

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022– It was an honour for our team to interview Ruco Chan 陳展鵬recently. Ruco stated that he was in Penang for three days prior to the interview. He stated that he has witnessed many changes in Malaysia. He took advantage of his visit to Penang and Ipoh to sample a variety of local delicacies. Now that he's in Kuala Lumpur for a few days, he's excited to try the local durian as well as Bak Kut Teh.

Ruco also stated that he had only brought his wife this time. Her daughter has to remain at home because she needs to attend school. Throughout the interview, he has shared regarding his interactions with his daughter. While in Malaysia, he has been video calling his daughter. He also mentioned that his daughter has her own thoughts on the videos they shared on social media. When asked if he has any plans for more children, he stated that if possible, he would like to be the first person in his family to have twins.

Regarding Ruco's thoughts on the upcoming TVB Awards 《万千星辉颁奖典礼2022》, he stated that he has confidence in himself every year. He managed to play a variety of characters this year. His favourite is undoubtedly the role in 《超能使者》. When asked if there would be a sequel for the drama, he expressed doubt. He mentioned that many of the scenarios in the drama have already been stretched to their breaking point. He thought it would be difficult to push the story any further. However, he stated that anything is still possible.

When asked about his future plans, Ruco stated that he would like to collaborate with artists and directors from various countries.

Additionally, the cute mascot doll that Ruco Chan holds on his hands is Astro CNY 2023 Mascot #旺兔!

TVB 《万千星辉颁奖典礼2022》will be taking place on 8^thJanuary 2023 and you can catch it LIVE via TVB翡翠台（Astro Ch 301）. Apart from their main awards, the show also featured special awards voted by Malaysian fans includingMalaysian Most Favourite TVB Main Actor“最喜爱TVB男主角”, Malaysian Most Favourite TVB Main Actrss“最喜爱TVB女主角” and Malaysian Most Favourite TVB Drama“最喜爱TVB电视剧集”. The voting by Malaysian fans has begun since 28^th November 2022 and the deadline will be on 28^th December 2022, 12pm.
