[Coverage] Anugerah Skrin 2018

Kuala Lumpur, November 2018 – Anugerah Skrin 2018 has been successfully held on 2^ndNovember 2018 at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur.Our team from www.wljack.comhas been given a golden opportunity to do a coverage on the red carpet event as well as the awards show!

Since 1994, Anugerah Skrin was held with the aim to recognize and appreciate the contribution of the local talents including the actors, actresses, directors and those working behind the scene in our film and drama industry.

The award show this time has featured special guest presenters including Datuk Rosyam Nor, Nora Danish, Awal Ashaari, Maya Karin, Ayda Jebat, Zahirah MacWilson, Elly Mazlein, Sherry Al-Hadad, Izzue Islam, Sharnaaz Ahmad, Naz Habibur Rahman and Shuk Sahar.

Prestigious Awards! Well Deserved Winners!

“Pendosa Ingin Ke Syurga” has earned the recognition as the Best Drama in Anugerah Skrin 2018. The director for the drama Rashid Sibir has grabbed away the Best Director (Drama) as well.

On the other hand, NUR has been another biggest winner of the night, grabbing away the award of “Drama Rantaian Terbaik (Kategori Bahasa Melayu)” while the main actor Syafiq Kyle and main actress Amyra Rosli have won “Pelakon Lelaki Terbaik Drama Rantaian (Best Actor in Serial Drama)” and “Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Drama Rantaian (Best Actress in Serial Drama)” respectively.

Apart from that, the Filem Terbaik (Best Film) award was presented to “Dukun” in which the main actress Datin Seri Umie Aidahas also won the “Pelakon Wanita Terbaik Filem (Best Actress in Film)”. Namron also won “Pelakon Pembantu Lelaki Terbaik (Best Supporting Actor) via the film “Dukun”.

This award show also showed appreciation to the contribution of the local Mandarin entertainment industry. Durng the event, “Green Wall” has crowned the award of “Drama Rantaian Terbaik (Kategori Bahasa Cina)”. Director周以勤along with the stars in the drama Jordan温绍平, April周雪婷and Gabriel Noel Pountney expressed that they were surprised with the winning. Jordan Voon was very delighted with the outcome and he felt that all of his hard work has paid off.

Besides that, it’s worth mentioning that “Let’s Cycle Season 3”has won the “Rancangan Realiti Terbaik (Best Reality Programme)”. The team behind the programme wish to extend their content coverage to overseas.

Genting Highlands, November 2018 – Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2018 《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2018》国际总决赛has taken place at Arena of Stars, Genting Highland on 3^rd November 2018. It was a memorable night filled with many spectacular performances!

International Level Singing Competition! Lim Yong Huat Triumphed As The Champion!

Astro Classic Golden Melody Singing Competition 2018 《Astro经典名曲歌唱大赛2018》国际总决赛this time featured 8 contestants which consist of not just Malaysian but also international contestant from Taiwan, Indonesia and China.The contestants included Liew Kuoh Yit刘广艺（48 years old）, Ong Beng Guik王明月（50 years old）, Lim Yong Huat林永发（45 years old）, Seah Siew In盛茠铟（46 years old）, Yap Yoon Cheong 叶永忠（46 years old）, Tai Hui-Ju戴惠如（Taiwan，54 years old）, Sylvia Lie李秀萍（Indonesia，53 years old）and Zhao Dong Ming赵东明（China，45 years old）.

The competition consists of 3 main rounds which were “Round 1: 完美亮相”，“Round 2: 梦想邂逅” and “Round 3: 梦想成真”. The opening video footage this time has a very interesting concept whereby the contestants were shown bidding themselves over the item which was the Golden Melody Trophy.

Prior to the beginning of the rounds, there was a golden melody medley performed by all of the contestants alongside with the past contestants and winners. The medley consists of notable songs like I Have A Dream, 卡门，说不出的快活，人生就是戏，欢乐今宵，Mamma Mia, Thank You For The Music and 我的未来不是梦.

It was a wonderful kickoff for the show!

During the first round, Zhao Dong Ming from China has demonstrated his unique vocal and wide range of voice control via his performance of “在那遥远的地方”. He was an obvious lead during the first round.

However, the tide has turned over during the second round as Lim Yong Huat and Yap Yoon Cheong soared with their performance respectively. Lim Yong Huat’s energetic performance of “对你爱不完+我爱你”was indeed remarkable.

Special Performance Before Final Round:

Final round was a tight match between the top three finalists Zhang Dong Ming, Lim Yong Huat and Yap Yoon Cheong. Ultimately, Lim Yong Huat triumphed as the champion of the competition! Yap Yoon Cheong came close as 1^st runner-up while Zhang Dong Ming was the second runner-up.

On the other hand, another male contestant, Liew Kuoh Yit has been awarded Mah Sing 人气奖.

Sally Yeh Took The Audiences to Another Level Of Hype!

One of the highlight of the night was the presence of HK Veteran singer, Sally Yeh葉蒨文as the special guest judge panelist. Apart from providing constructive comments to the contestants, she has also performed two of her iconic songs on stage including “潇洒走一回”and “完全为你”. Her performance was very impressive!

Apart from Sally Yeh, this prestigious singing competition also consists of renowned artistes as the judge panelists including Mindy Quah柯以敏，郑国亮，邓智彰 and 童欣.

Lim Yong Huat林永发who was the champion of the night expressed that he initially thought he could only make it to 2^nd runner-up. The outcome was a surprise to him as he felt that all of the other contestants were very good. When asked about his secret key to success, he said that it would be due to his passion and indulgence in singing. Regarding how he would spend his prize money, he planned to bring his family for a trip. However, he hasn’t decided the destination yet.

As for the 1^st runner up, Yap Yoon Cheong 叶永忠also said that he didn’t expect himself to make it to the top 3. He was very happy with the outcome and he said that he cried when the result was announced. Zhao Dong Ming赵东明who was the 2^nd runner-up on the other hand felt very grateful to be able to take part in the competition which is away from his own country.

Apart from that, we also managed to interview Sally Yeh葉蒨文post-event. She highlighted that the standard of the contestants for this competition were very high. She was impressed with their performances. Post-interview, she has shared some words of motivation and advices with the winners.

[Interview Coverage] Elisa Chan Kit Ling陈洁灵during The Golden Melodies“好经典2018”

Genting Highlands, November 2018 – Early this month, we had the opportunity to interview HK Jazz Legend, Elisa Chan Kit Ling 陈洁灵 who came to our shore for “The Golden Melodies 2018” concert held in Malaysia. Some of her iconic songs included “今晚夜”, “千个太阳” and etc.

During the interview, she has shared with us regarding her latest news as well as her thoughts in Music Industry.

She highlighted her thoughts on Golden Melodies. For her, golden melodies are classic songs which could strive through time and still being relatable. Although she is currently 63 years old, she has never quitted music industry. She mentioned that Music is her life. She would feel like there’s a missing piece in her life if she stops singing. She said that music doesn’t depend on age, but depends on creativity. We need to be humble in accepting new elements in order to create a better music.

Elisa who has not been tutoring students in singing for quite some time also said that she would be keen to gain more experience again before resuming singing tutor.

Apart from her life and thoughts on music, Elisa also expressed her likings towards the Mandarin drama “Story Of Yanxi Palace”.

During “The Golden Melodies 2018” concert, Elisa Chan Kit Ling has collaborated with 风采姐妹, 郑国亮, Nicole赖凇凤, 曾洁钰, 陈丽媚, 白琳, 吴国豪、卢润江、杨克意 and 陈时达 to present the best of golden melodies including HK Classics, Hokkien Classics and etc.

[Coverage] Dino Lee Yu Xi (李玉玺) Sing With Me Autograph Session

Kuala Lumpur, November 2018 - Dino Lee Yu Xi (李玉玺) was here in Malaysia with his brand new album “Sing With Me” early November. This was his first appearance in Malaysia after 3 years since he last came here for his promo tour! This one and only autograph signing event was held in Atria Shopping Gallery on 9th November 2018 (Friday).

This album was released on June this year. It was his third song album. He had put in a lot of effort in this new album from top to toe, from as the producer of the album even until design of the album cover. Dino said he had to overcome many difficulties when producing this album due to lots of thoughts or new ideas to put into the album and therefore many thanks to the producing team in helping him on this.

Dino Lee had also brought his favourite teddy bear named Lucy to the event. For those who do not know Lucy, Lucy had always appeared in Dino's Instagram, you may have a look into it. According to the emcee Emely Poon, Lucy accompanied Dino everyday wherever he goes.

[Press Conference Coverage] KARD Lazada 11.11 Super Show Press Conference

Kuala Lumpur, November 2018 – Popular Kpop Sensation, KARD has come over to Malaysia on November 2018 as the highlight performer in Lazada 11.11 Super Show. Prior to the show, they have met and greet the media and fans in a press conference held at Intercontinental, Kuala Lumpur.

During the press conference, KARD mentioned that they felt very excited to be in Malaysia and they were glad to see a lot of fans waiting for them as they landed in Malaysia. They also shared with the press and their fans regarding how they have met each other 7 years ago and how they ended up becoming a co-ed group.

KARD was also in surprised and felt honored to be ranked as No.2 in MyMusic Taste where the fans voted for their favourite artistes to perform in their respective cities.

The Kpop group also shared about their online shopping experiences. Somin and Jiwoo both love to buy clothes online. J.seph on the other hand mentioned that he usually prefer to shop “offline” as he prefers window shopping.

When asked regarding the type of Malaysian food that they would want to try, BM would be keen to try the fried rice in Malaysia. On the other hand, Jiwoo was looking forward for Satay. The fans who were present at the press conference recommended them to try ABC (Air Batu Campur). BM asked them whether the fans like Bingsu or ABC more. They said ABC thus making KARD more interested to try out ABC.

From KARD, they also suggested Korean food for the Malaysian fans to try. BM recommended cow intestine, J.Seph recommended Bibimbap with gochujang sauce, Somin recommended Tteok-bokkiwhile Jiwoo recommended Korea BBQ.

When asked whether KARD willinclude Malaysia as one of the countries for their future tour, they mentioned “Sure”. So let’s keep the fingers crossed and hope the fans can see them perform LIVE again in Malaysia.

[Concert Coverage] Lazada 11.11 Super Show At Axiata Arena

Kuala Lumpur, November 2018 – 11 November was a great date to remember as it was the day for the great online shopping festival. In conjunction with 11.11, Lazada has organized a grand countdown concert featuring A-lists lineups of performers from local as well as international to perform in Lazada 11.11 Super Show. It was indeed a memorable concert! Lazada 11.11 Super Show has also went on air at TV3 and NTV7.

The show was hosted by Sherry Alhadadand Haziq Hussni and has kicked off with spectacular performances by Malaysian breakdance group Floor Fever Crew, followed by Aman Ra, SonaOne and Altimet.

The night was also graced by superb lineups namely Amy Mastura, Aiman Tino, Naim Daniel, Sarah Suhairi, Haqiem Rusli and a special sketch by Bocey and Wany Hasrita. We were also mesmerized by ‘Supergirls’ Defam with their super powerful performance. Hazamaand Khai Bahar have also fascinated the crowd with their singing performance of ‘Amaran Mama’ and ‘Arjuna Mencari Cinta’. Another highlight during Lazada 11.11 Super Show was the presence of Indonesian heartthrob, Cakra Khan who has enthralled the fans with his great vocals.

Apart from singing and dancing performances, the show also has featured Sunsilk game session featuring Maya Karin, Ropie Cecupak, Mark Adam, Ain Edruce, Syifa Melvin, dan Sarah Suhairi. There was also another games segment with Drypers which includes Khai Bahar, Ayda Jebat, Puteri Aishah and Redza Rosli.

Later that night, Lazada 11.11 Super Show continued with the big-shot performances by Bunkface, Ziana Zain and Ella before the finale act by Kpop sensation group KARD.

[Explore] EMPIRE by ZOUK At Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands, December 2018 – If you mention about clubbing to anyone in Malaysia, Zouk is definitely not a stranger to the clubbing kakis. Zouk which was originated in Singapore was voted as the third best club in the world in the DJ Mag Top 100 Clubs DJ Ranking.

The clubbing experience in the country has gotten bigger and better than ever with Zouk Atrium which will encompass the main club Zouk, Empire by Zouk, RedTail by Zouk, RedTail Karaoke as well as a Redtail BBQ Outlet and Fuhu a new vibe dining restaurant in 2019.

Empire is one of Zouk Genting’s two club outlets, and one of the newest concepts introduced under the Zouk Umbrella. Empire was a hip-hop themed, dual club-lounge that is reminiscent of the upscale, private lounges in New York.

Last week, Empire by Zouk has opened its door on 21^stNovember 2018. Our team from www.wljack.comhas also been given a chance to do an exploration trip to the club.

I’m excited for guests to experience the music and vibe at Empire. Deliberately apparent with its references and swanky design language, the space to me, is captivating with an old-school charm that is further amplified by music that will be played. Zouk has always been loved for being a multi-concept complex and we are looking to create that experience to the guests at Resorts World Genting. With the rising popularity and appreciation of hip-hop culture, we thought it’d be an opportune moment to introduce a brand new hip-hop angled concept.”

“We’re looking to redefine the clubbing experience yet again and I believe we’ve achieved that at Empire by Zouk,” said Joseph Ryan, Project Director of Zouk Genting. “When we started creating the space, we wanted a place that visitors would feel as if they have stepped into an alternate universe. We’ve paid attention to each detail and worked with experts in their own field in terms of lighting, the sound system and the art that is the focal point of the club to create the best club in Malaysia.”

Spanning 5000 square feet inside Zouk Atrium of over 40,000 square feet, Empire features an urban blend of art, fashion and music. At 6000 feet above sea level at Resorts World Genting, Empire will be the new hip-hop central of Malaysia, bringing street beats and urban vibes. In true Zouk fashion of having separate areas to cater for different tastes, Empire will be dedicated to hip hop.

Empire will also be perfect for a private party for anyone looking to throw a blowout for up to 500 people with a bar and 20 tables. A 20 feet long LED screen takes centre stage to illuminate the club behind the DJ console which will host the best DJs in the world including guest DJs from Zouk Singapore. The club is a visual feast as it was created by the global leaders LEDs Control who have played a part in clubs worldwide.

The walls also features an artwork like European Art Gallery with a funky modern twist. Curated by Singaporean art consultants The Artling, the artwork was actually exclusively created for the space at Empire by Malaysian artist Umibaizurah Mahir Ismail who has had her works collected by various institutions and private collectors including the National Art Gallery Malaysia and the Asia Arts Network in Seoul, South Korea. Using her distinct style of collage and mixed media, Ismail created a set of five works which has playful tongue-in-cheek narratives by juxtaposing the old and the new with notions of satire thrown into the mix.

More artwork is extended to the restroom with two pieces by Najzil Layin from Indonesia who created two pieces that incorporated the spirited characteristics of the club with a playful nod to Banksy’s ‘Rage, The Flower Thrower’.

Whilst food is not always the focus at clubs, Zouk Genting is looking to change that. “With the upcoming launch of Fuhu, we are looking to continue building our F&B portfolio,” shared Chef Steven Chou, Culinary Director of Zouk Group. The end goal is to contribute to building Zouk’s establishments as the ultimate hotspot for wine, dine and play.

If one club is not enough, keep the party going all night long by heading to the main club Zouk, opening 31st December 2018 with a special New Year’s Eve party. DJ Che Molly from one of Zouk Singapore’s repertoire of resident DJs will be on hand to usher in 2019. Chosen to be the club’s first female resident for her versatility and adaptability, Che’Molly is well versed in multiple genres of dance music ranging from commercial EDM, to her personal favourite, the underground sounds of House and Techno. Entry is RM50 including one drink.

Adjacent to the clubs is RedTail by Zouk, a social gaming lounge decked out in eclectic art that is perfect as a pre-drinking spot with a huge variety of games such as Giant Beer Pong, Giant Jenga, fusball and even electronic games machines. We have had a fun time at RedTail before we entered into Empire. RedTail food is great too!

If you’re a keen songbird looking to blow off some steam with friends, RedTail karaoke is the place for you with six rooms adorned with fun mascots such as Steve the drum-playing gorilla, Eddy the saxophone-playing panda and Joe the break dancing flamingo. Visitors can expect fresh new experiences with different themes across Reggae, K-pop, EDM, Rock and the Classics to explore.

The touring production arrives at Genting International Showroom to focus on a very vexing problem. Dora has lost her teddy bear Osito and she needs help to search for him. As Dora venture through a jungle of obstacles with nothing more than a map, Boots, Backpack, Diego and her other courageous friends to retrieve Osito, the audience will be mesmerized by an elaborate sets and rousing musical numbers. Going through the journey with Dora, we will meet up with the sneaky fox Swiper who plans to foil her quest at every turns possible. Engaging the audience through a variety of familiar songs, dance and smart problem solving, there is no doubt that Dora will eventually succeed, as she can sing out her catchphrase at the end – We Did it!

Dora The Explorer LIVE! Search for the City of Lost Toysis produced by Life Like Touring and Nickelodeon and conceived by co-creator of the Dora the Explorer television show Chris Gifford. The show first premiered in Melbourne, Australia in 2010 and has gone on to tour more than 15 countries since, entertaining millions of people across the world. Being the first time in Malaysia at Resorts World Genting, the 14-strong cast and crew will act, sing and dance through 18 songs over the 90 minutes production (with a 15-minute intermission). Familiar songs from the television series will be intermingled with original songs written specifically for the live stage show.

“Putting Dora on stage has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life and it has given me the opportunity of travelling to Australia, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.” Says Chris Gifford, who co-created Dora the Explorer with Valerie Walsh Valdes and Eric Weiner in 2000. “The television show runs for only twenty-two minutes so in the theatre, we have more time to play with the dynamics of the story and with the relationships between the characters. Dora can take the audience on the kind of adventure which the kids couldn’t experience for themselves. She’s a good kid and she’s also universal because ultimately these stories are about friendship and love.”

As from our team, we have really indulged ourselves in the LIVE show of Dora The Explorer. The choreography of the show was well-arranged and entertaining. The essence of the television show was brought up to LIVE on stage and we are really amazed by it. The way Dora interacted with the crowd is also very delightful. During our review session, we can see that the character has caught the audiences’ focus (especially the kids) and engaged with them perfectly. “Where is our next destination?” said Dora. And the kid audiences were replying responsively! This was something really memorable to see. Apart from that, we really love all the songs being played during the show. They are all very nostalgic and catchy as well. We also felt impressed by the way how props and background changes were done seamlessly during transition of each scene.

Post show, we have interviewed the choreographer of the show, Katie Ditchburn. During the interview, she mentioned that she really enjoyed choreographing for Dora The Explorer LIVE! Search For The City of Lost Toys. Apart from this show, she has also choreographed for other Nickelodeon’s LIVE show as well. When asked whether they would consider bringing other LIVE shows to Malaysia, she replied that they would be keen to if there are invitations from the local organizer. As for Dora The Explorer LIVE!, her favourite song from the live performance would be “We Did It!”!

Tickets for Dora The Explorer LIVE! Search for the City of Lost Toys are now on sale. The stage production runs from 24 November 2018 to 1^st January 2019 over 44 shows at the Genting International Showroom. Showtimes are 7.30pm Monday to Friday, 4pm and 7.30pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays. There will be no shows on 26 November, 3 December, 17 December and 24 December.

Tickets are priced at RM 186 (VIP), RM 143 (PS1) and RM 101 (PS2). An additional processing fee of RM 4.00 applied. GRC (Genting Rewards Card) members enjoy a standard 10% discount via cash, credit card or Genting Points redemption.

Resorts World Genting is also offering special Dora The Explorer Room Packages, including tickets to the show. Star Wars: Secrets Of The Empire will take the guests on a trip into Star Wars universe on the planet of Mustafar. Tickets are now on sales for Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire at RM 130 each.

The team of guests will be travelling to the molten planet of Mustafar under the orders of the budding rebellion. The team’s mission is to recover Imperial Intelligence vital to the rebellion’s survival. Alongside the pragmatic droid K-2SO, the team must navigate through an enemy facility walking into danger at every turn. The guests get to disguise as Stormtroopers, grab the blasters, solve puzzles and fight giant lava monsters in an effort to fulfil the team’s orders.

The VOID at Resorts World Genting will be its first location in Asia. It is set to be one of the must-visit attractions at the resort which saw almost 25 million visitors last year.

Personal Experience:

For me, I think the experience at The Void is spectacular! Prior to the game, we have a briefing on what we should and should not be doing while inside the game. The briefing is very concise and easily understandable.

Then we were guided in suiting up with the VR outfits and equipment. Once we entered into the stage, we get to immerse ourselves totally into the game. Imagine, seeing yourselves and your other friends in Stormtrooper outfits via the VR gear.

As we explored through the game, we get to feel and experience the sensation as though we are really at a rebellion’s base. When I got shot by the enemies, I could feel the vibration on my outfit. Even when in hot places like the lava arena, I could feel the heat there. It’s such a realistic experience!

For me, I really think “STAR WARS: Secret Of The Empire” is a very fun game to try on! If you are a Star Wars fans, this is definitely a must try!

[Food Outing] BUMMBU NASI SINGGEY @ KUANTAN

Kuantan, January 2019 - Looking for a good place to hang out with friends or have lunch in Kuantan? There is this new place called BUMMBU NASI SINGGEY which you should check it out.

Featuring wooden tables and chairs, a kopitiam like menu counter, with artistic paintings and posters on the walls, this restaurant provide an atmosphere with a blend of traditional Malay culture mixed with a little bit of hipster element.

There are quite a number of food choices here including Singgang Ikan, Singgang Daging, Lemak Bakar, Ayam Bakar, Kambing Bakar which are served along with drinks (Air Sirap/ Teh O Beng) in set meals, “BUMMBU SET”. The price range for BUMMBU SET is RM 6.50 – RM 11.00.

If you are craving for western style food, you may try their BUMMBU PLATE including Ayam Plate, Daging Plate and the Kambing Plate. (Price range is RM 13.50 – RM 17.50)

I have tried out Kambing Bakar set and I really love it. The lamb meat is cooked and roasted very well. The succulent meat is a good combo with the rice and soup. Yummy!

Besides, I have also tried out their drinks, “BUMMBU Blend”. You may choose either Kopi BUMMBU Blend, Jagung BUMMBU Blend or Milo BUMMBU Blend. These blended drinks include a scope of float with Nata De Coco. The drinks are very soothing and cooling! Good choice especially during hot days!

Currently, BUMMBU NASI SINGGEY is having a special promotion whereby the Air Sirap and Teh O Beng are sold at a very unbelievable price of only 50 cents! So, if you are looking for a place for tea time session with your friends/colleagues, this place is definitely an option for you!

Apart from that, there are also a few side dishes and snacks available here including Fries, Roti Bakar, Kopok Cheezy, Chicken Ball and Tuna Sandwich.

In my opinion, I really love the Kopok Cheezy. It’s a unique experience to taste keropok coated with cheezy sauce! I never thought both of these can complement each other so well! It’s a tasty snack to munch on!

The Menu:

After the food session, we have the opportunity to talk with the boss and main chef of the outlet, Mr Mohd Hafiz and his wife Dr Rosmawati (she's a consultant paediatrician) as they shared more info about their restaurant.

Many of us have wondered what is the meaning of BUMMBU? BUMMBU is actually derived from the Bahasa Jawa word "Bumbu" which means Rempah (spice). This actually correlates well with the food here which are made of their original recipe that consists of different spices.

Mr Mohd Hafiz is from a family of chef and he first started his venture into food industry in Melbourne. At Melbourne, he has gained a lot of exposure and he has assimilated those experience into his current restaurants.

Overall, I think this restaurant is a good place to dine in and I would surely recommend it to those who loves good Malay food!

Kuantan, January 2019– Murtabak has always been one of my favorite food to buy at Bazaar during fasting months. A lot of people agreed that Murtabak is one of the delicacies which everyone will look forward to during the festive months. But here in Kuantan, you can actually get to taste it all year long!

Introducing to you all, MURTABAK MENGKASAR which is located at Jalan Bukit Sekilau. This is one of the branch of the original MURTABAK MENGKASAR from Pekan. It is selling very delicious Murtabak including the options of Murtabak Ayam Biasa, Murtabak Daging Biasa, Murtabak Ayam Special, Murtabak Daging Special and Mix Special. The price is affordable and it ranges from RM 8 – RM 12.

This is a well-known joint for Murtabak at Kuantan and it is usually packed with customers from the moment it starts operating every day.

I have tried out the Murtabak Daging Special and Murtabak Ayam Special. They are really tasty! It is made with distinctive spices and different texture of layering! As you savor the Murtabak, you can taste the fulfilling meat/chicken along its mouth watering crust! It’s really appetizing!

Besides the freshly made Murtabak, this outlet also offers Frozen Murtabak which are packaged and exported out. The options for the Frozen Murtabak include Murtabak Special (RM15) and Murtabak Ayam (RM 12). This is very convenient for the customers from other states and countries to bring the delicacies back to their home and cook it easily.

We have talked to the owner of the outlet and get to know more about MURTABAK MENGKASAR. This outlet at Jalan Bukit Sekilau has been operating since 2001 and has received many positive remarks from the local community, tourists and media.

According to him, the Murtabak here are made with the original old recipe which has been inherited for generations. They use their self-manufactured ingredients in their recipe and no other restaurants would offer the similar taste as theirs. The first outlet is located at Mengkasar, Pekan thus comes the name “Murtabak Mengkasar”.

Apart from that, he also shares with us that the Frozen Murtabak has received great response from foreign countries. It is exported to many different places including Jeddah!

As mentioned during the beginning of the post, this place is open all year long. Thus, whoever is visiting Kuantan the next time, I would recommend you to stop by and have a taste on the delicious Murtabak here!

NAMEWEE JOINS SHANE FILAN AND FAZURA AT ELMINA LAKESIDE CONCERT

Kuala Lumpur, January 2019– Hey, peeps and music lover! The first lakeside concert at the City of Elmina – “Elmina Lakeside Concert” -- will take place on 19 January 2019 at the Elmina Central Park, located within the award-winning City of Elmina township in Shah Alam. The FREE concert is brought to you exclusively by Sime Darby Property and organised by Universal Music Malaysia.

As per announced during a press conference held in November 2018, concert-goers will be entertained by Shane Filan, of Westlife fame and Malaysian songstress and celebrity Fazura. A third act has been confirmed to join the concert line-up, which is Malaysian musician and filmmaker Namewee.

Namewee has made waves in recent years by collaborating with renowned artistes around the globe. He is best-known for his unconventional style of music and films that has swept away numerous local and international awards and nominations.

Shane Filan rose to fame as one of the lead singers and frontman of Irish boy band Westlife and continued his music journey as a solo artiste. Shane is expected to perform classic hits of Westlife and new materialsfrom his latest album.

Fazura started her career as an actress and TV personality before including music in her portfolio, which led her to release her debut album in 2017 that was certified gold.

The free admission concert, which is open to all, is a grand welcoming to all City of Elmina residents and an extension of the City of Elmina’s township brand campaign that promotes wellness and exceptional lifestyle in the most significant development along the Guthrie Corridor.

A carnival will complement the concert from 5:30pm onwards with a myriad of games and activities tailored for families, such as hot air balloon, 12D Cinema, go kart, wall climbing, laser game and food trucks, before the concert starts at 8pm.

The concert will also mark the opening of the first 36 acres of the 300-acre Elmina Central Park, chosen as the concert’s venue. The central park is home to Malaysia’s first Inclusive Playground scheduled for completion in the first half of 2019. Once completed, it will enable children with and without disabilities to play together as equals, while creating opportunities for inter-generational interaction within families and enhancing social cohesion of the wider community.

Besides the 300-acre Elmina Central Park, City of Elmina’s other features include a 90-kilometre cycling and jogging track; one of the longest tracks in the country. The City of Elmina is planned and developed in line with specifications set out by Mercer’s Quality of Living Survey, an internationally recognised standard that measures liveability.

[Press Conference Coverage] Astro CNY Countdown Gala Joint Press Conference 2019

Bandar Rimbayu, January 2019 - Organized by Astro, co-presented by IJM Land and Huawei, Yakult and 天猫海外 as co-sponsors, the annual Astro CNY Countdown Gala will be held on 19th January 2019 (Saturday), 8.30pm at Bandar Rimbayu @ IJM Land. It's going to be a very exciting celebration event not to be missed!

Since 2008 (Mouse year), Astro has started organizing Astro CNY Gala Night. Up till now, they will finally made a complete 12 years course of zodiac years CNY celebrations. In order to commemorate such a meaningful achievement, the CNY countdown gala this year themed "万象更新勇气棒嘟嘟" under the lead of the hosts emcees 萧慧敏 and 菲比, will be having an assemble of 13 iconic characters from Malaysia and Singapore TV Dramas. These 13 characters will be divided into two different teams, "勇气战队" and "棒嘟嘟战队", whereby they will compete with each other to win the interactive competition on stage.

In order to assemble the 13 iconic characters, the organizing team has put in a lot of efforts in gathering them in order to present these classical characters LIVE on stage. The 13 characters included 梁婆婆，猫王（程旭辉）,阿炳（林德荣）, 陈金水（黄一飞）, 陈美凤（陈薇芝）, 王嘉琳（Estee 陈昭伶), 傅兴仁校长（远扬）,万宜雯（Vivienne Oon 温慧茵）,金珠（Jentzen 林震前）, 服务生（Jasper 赖宇涵 ), 阿莲（颜薇恩）,女侠（龙文敏）and 阿财（林健文）.

These iconic characters will be performing a stage act during the Astro CNY Countdown Gala 2019. The stage performance will definitely rekindle the audience's memory over these classic characters.

During the press conference, we get to witness some of the artistes interacted with each other in their own unique characters. It's definitely a funny scene seeing 程旭辉 translating 黄一飞"一百万" into Bahasa Malaysia version!

Other performance and main highlights of the night include dancing performance, mimic, magic and singing performance.

Dancing performances will be led by representatives from "叫我男神" and "国际华裔小姐". During the press conference, KidInn has demonstrated a little bit of his spectacular dance move. Lovell and Alanis on the other hand funnily demonstrated their "wavy" dance.

Apart from that, Jie Ying 赵洁莹，Weon 关萃汶 and 庄文杰 have shared with the media regarding what to expect during their mimic sessions.

The singing performances during Astro CNY Countdown Gala 2019 will be featuring Danny 许佳麟，Geraldine 颜慧萍，Nicole 赖淞凤，林永发 and 叶永忠. They have provided the media members a little bit of teaser of the singing they will be performing soon.

GOXUAN, "本来只想暗恋你2" and Xuan 模范生 artistes will be performing magic performance on stage after they have learnt the skills from Mark & Pinky.

One more highlight regarding Astro CNY countdown Gala is the CNY carnival which will be held in the afternoon from 4pm onwards in conjunction with "万象更新勇气棒嘟嘟"迎春大庆典. During the carnival, there will be a lot of stalls and food trucks for the visitors to stop by. Do check it out!

[Coverage] Eason and the duo band “L.O.V.E.” Promo Tour and Special Screening

Kuala Lumpur, January 2019 - Eason and the duo band have released their new album <L.O.V.E.> in December 2018. On 12th January, Eason Chan 陈奕迅has greeted the Malaysian fans at The Platform, Menara Ken TTDI with this new album. Happening on the same day was the simultaneous screening of his music documentary <L.O.V.E. in F.R.A.M.E.S.> for the first time in Malaysia!

Eason has been on the <DUO> world tour since it was started in 2010 for 2 years. After that, Eason and the duo band started planning for <L.O.V.E.> project which then took 6 years to finally get it done. <L.O.V.E.> comprises 8 Cantonese, 2 Chinese and 1 English track. The duo band had took part in composing, lyrics making, producing and supervising. While Eason had personally composed the last track "The album"("可一可再")! Each and every songs in the album composed by the band member and the album was recorded in 3 different countries.

Prior to the release of the album, "All about love" ("与你常在"), "Am I me" ("渐渐"), "The album" ("可一可再"), "We zzzid it"("破坏王") and "Tequila" ("龍舌蘭")were released digitally and immediately grabbed hold of TOP 1 on KKBOX New Cantonese Song and KKBOX Cantonese Single!! "Am I me" ("渐渐") was even the first runner up on KKBOX Cantonese Overall Chart!

Music documentary <L.O.V.E. in F.R.A.M.E.S.> was directed by one of the duo band's sub-vocal, Mark Cheung 张杰邦 and it featured behind-the-scenes contents of the <DUO> world tour by Eason and the duo band from 2010 to 2012. It also included footages of the recording process during the past 6 years as they travel around globally, such as England, Guangzhou, Hong Kong.

Eason said he is actually very comfortable with the band and happy to be able to cooperate well with them and thus produced this amazing album and music documentary.

This music documentary wasn't planned from the very beginning, actually it was started from Mark Cheung video-ing their travel footages using his newly bought video camera. This video clips were then used to produce this music documentary.

"Long live to us"("我们万岁") that we are listening now is actually the third version of their composition. Eason and Carl both think this is the best version, so you should really listen to it if got chance.

During Q&A session, Eason mentioned that after he finish promoting this album, he will spend more time with the family first, then only think of the next project. He also wanted to spend some time exercising at the gym centre.

This music documentary won't be uploaded in Youtube. There might be another future project on it which is currently still in progress.

This is a team effort for 8 years, consists of 11 stories with 'love' and 'joy', so it will be an interesting album to explore with!

Eason also hinted that he is now planning to have a concert at the end of the year. So let’s keep our fingers crossed. Until then, stay tuned!

On 19th January 2019, one of the highlights in Quill City Mall which has taken place was the Grand Launch of "Blooming Spring" and 8TV CNY "CNY So Happy" campaign. The event was graced by 8TV celebrities including Jordan Sen 盛天俊， Emily 陈子颖，Natalie小玉，Haoren 朱浩仁，Wind 李诗斌 and Lynn 林绿.

During the event, there was a lion dance performance and God Of Prosperity "Gold coin" chocolate giving walkabout. All of the celebrities have also interacted with the shoppers and the fans who have attended the event. They have selected a few lucky fans to go on stage for a few games sessions. It was really a fun interactive sessions!

Besides, all of the artistes have also performed on the stage by singing their New CNY songs "CNY So Happy 诸事大吉颂 Happy" and "回家的车票". The songs are very lively and filled with CNY feels.

Apart from that, there was also a CJ Wow Lucky Draw Session whereby the lucky ones get to win some really great prizes.

After the stage events, there was a Lousang session with the celebrities which marked the end of the Grand Launch for "Blooming Spring" at Quill City Mall KL.

[CONCERT COVERAGE] ELMINA LAKESIDE CONCERT

Kuala Lumpur, January 2019– Still remember our previous post on the first lakeside concert at the City of Elmina – “Elmina Lakeside Concert”? (Check out the post here: https://www.wljack.com/2019/01/upcoming-event-elmina-lakeside-concert.html ).

It has taken place on 19 January 2019 at the Elmina Central Park, located within the award-winning City of Elmina township in Shah Alam. It was a free concert brought to you exclusively by Sime Darby Property and organized by Universal Music Malaysia.

Carnival And Concert! Filled with over 10,000 audiences!

The Elmina Lakeside Concert was an exciting concert. Apart from the concert, it was filled with other fun activities such as hot air balloon, 12D Cinema, go-kart, wall climbing, laser game and food trucks which made it a very memorable carnival! Visitors get to enjoy the food trucks and games there while sightseeing the beautiful scenery of the City OfElmina.

The concert kicked off with the performance by YouTubers PongPong who have performed their cover of“学猫叫”and “强心脏”.

Following PongPong’s performance, it was the appearance of one of the headliner acts, Fazura who have mesmerized the crowds with her melodious voice. She as performed a few of her notable singles as well as her new song too. The songs she has performed that night included “Sayangi Dirimu”, “Bisa Apa”, “Nothing Like Pag-Ibig”, “Can’t Forget Me” and “Bangun”.

One of the highlights during the night was that Fazura’s husband, Fattah Amin has also made an appearance by performing “Isterimewa” and a duet with his wife “Paling Sempurna”.

After their performances, a young beatboxer Sawyer Leong has owned the stage with his cool and swaggy beatbox.

Right after the beatbox performance, we managed to witness Namewee’s performance on stage. He is indeed talented as he amazed all of the audiences with his popular singles such as “飙高音”，“胡志明的雨”，“泰国恰恰”. Besides being a great performer, he also demonstrated his sense of humor as he mentioned that his main aim that night was to watch Shane Filan perform on stage and also to have a look at the properties in City of Elmina. Despite without the presence of LeeHom, Namewee has performed an outstanding jaw-dropping rap for the song of “飘向北方”，possibly one of the most popular songs in the years of 2017-2018. Lastly, he performed his patriotic single, “Ali Ahkau dan Muthu” which has earned everyone’s cheers.

Before we moved on to the finale of the show, Josh Kua made an appearance on the audiences’ side of the venue with his violin performances consisting of Westlife Hit Songs! It was a remarkable performance!

Last but not least, Shane Filan who was the main highlight act of the event finally came on stage and performed an array of Westlife Classics including “Uptown Girl”, “My Love”, “Swear It Again”, “If I let you go” and “You Raise Me Up”. This has brought all of the audiences down the nostalgic lane and reminisced back all the good songs which were brought by the well-loved boy group Westlife many years ago! Apart from the classics, Shane Filan also performed “Heaven” and“What About Now”.
