[Entertainment] Korean Film Festival @ GSC Mid Valley

Kuala Lumpur, November 2019 - Korean Film Festival has made a comeback to GSC Mid Valley on November 2019. Organized by the Embassy of Republic Of Korea, the festival has introduced a diverse flavours of Korean Cinema to Malaysian audiences.

The films that were selected this time were“Secretly Greatly (2013)”, “The Classified File (2015)” , “Kundo: Age of the Rampant (2014)”, “Wonderful Nightmare (2015)”and “The Road Called Life (2014)”.

All of these film screenings were free and open to public during the period of Korean Film Festival 2019 (21^st-24^th November 2019).

Our team has attended the Opening Of 2019 Korean Film Festival 2019 that day and we also got the chance to watch “Secretly Greatly”, an action comedy-drama film starring Kim Soo-Hyun. We really enjoyed the film.

Overall, Korean Film Festival 2019 was a great treat for all Korean Culture fans as it exposes more about Korean filmography to the Malaysian Audience. We do look forward for the future Korean Film Festival to take place in Malaysia again!

[Press Conference Coverage] Premiere of Jacqueline Tiang 程玲First Trendy Dance Song “Look At Me Now”

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – Jacqueline Tiang 程玲who is debuted at the Miss Astro Chinese International (MACIP) 2016 has brought us her first dance song “Look At Me Now”. She’s the first MACIP contestant who is involved in composing music and producing a music video.

Back in 2018, Jacqueline’s has attempted to sing the cover for a popular Mandarin song “一场游戏一场梦” by Dave Wang as a web-series theme song. The song went viral and many were surprised to find out about Jacqueline’s great vocal. From there onwards, others have started to notice her singing talent.

“Look At Me Now” is a representation of Jacqueline’s growth!

Jacqueline has gone through a lot of hardship in her journey as an artiste. It begins since her participation in MACIP whereby she received a lot of critic from the netizens during the period of the competition. She was always upset at that time and she always hopes to please everyone.

But as she grows through her career, she learned that it is important to be her true self. Thus, she has gained the courage to overcome the negative remarks against her. This is as per what she has written in her new song, “I will show you who I am, look at me now” as she wanted the people who used to reject her, to see how much she has grown now.

Being involved in the song composing for the first time, Jacqueline has shared with the media members regarding the amazing experience she has had with her music team. The music team consists of members from different races including Malay, Indian and Chinese. It was a fun process in the song formation and audio mixing as the team members from different backgrounds shared their different perspectives in the production.

Jacqueline also shared her opinion on music video production. She felt that the most difficult part of the process was in the look for the venues for shooting. The venues include “Vogue Lounge” and “Wicked KL Club”. Both venues provide a spectacular background for the shooting.

Otherwise, she was also involved in finding the props, styling, as well as the designs for the music video. Her efforts were praised by Harison Kam, the director of the music video. The music video depicts the transformation of an elegant lady into her true self. It is a visual treat for the audiences as the fashion in the video is really trendy and stylish.

During the media press conference, the music video “Look At Me Now” was shown and we really liked the concept.

Jacqueline also mentioned that she will be performing LIVE for the first time during the upcoming MACIP finale. It is something meaningful for her as MACIP was the competition that she debuted from. It’s definitely something to look forward to!

Apart from that, currently she’s involved in the filming of a web-series and she was collaborating with artistes from Hong Kong and China.

I Like To Move It, Move It!

Madagascar The Musical is a wonderful adaptation of the film into a stage performance. It’s a pleasant spectacle for the audiences as they get to watch their favourite characters such as Alex The Lion, Marty The Zebra, Gloria The Hippo, Melman The Giraffe, Skipper, Rico, Private and Kowalski The Penguins and etc come to LIVE.

The musical has featured a number of songs such as “King Of New York!”, “Relax, Be Cool, Chill Out”, “Best Friends” as well as the animation most popular OST, “I Like To Move It Move It”. All of these songs are catchy and the audiences love it!

Besides the singing and dancing, the show also featured amazing puppetry performance for some of the characters such as The Penguins, Melman, Maurice and etc. It’s amazing to see the puppeteers in action while voicing over the characters as well.

The scenery change and lighting in the movie are amazing as well. From New York Central Park Zoo until the scenery of the wild in Madagascar, every backdrops are just stunning and transition of scenes are seamless.

We really love the performance by the casts members such as Joseph Connor, Posi Morakinyo, Connor Dyer, Hannah Victoria and etc. We are also impressed by Kieran Mortell’s performance as King Julien. We believed Kieran is kneeling down throughout his part and it’s definitely challenging to sing and dance in that position. Otherwise, the whole crews have done a great job in putting up such a wonderful show!

The media members were also given a chance to take a tour to the backstage. We were amazed by the setting at the backstage. We also get to learn how the puppeteer works!

Overall, Madagascar The Musical is a fun and entertaining show for families with kids. Do check it out this weekend!

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – One of the scenes from the latest EJEN ALI THE MOVIE, which was recently uploaded to Youtube titled as “Mamak Maju, Service Laju” has gone viral and became #1 On TRENDING in Malaysia on Youtube this week.

The “Mamak Maju” tune has become an overnight online sensation, receiving an overwhelming nod from netizens for its entertaining melody. Besides, netizens were amused with the hilarious and engaging scene that features Mamak staffs in cheerful dance step, catchy songs lyrics, and unique music tempo.

The video has garnered 1.4 million YouTube views so far.

Azri Yunus, the Lead Composer behind EJEN ALI THE MOVIE revealed that the idea and inspiration behind the song came from the movie’s director, Usamah Zaid Yasin, who wanted to portray the viewers an iconic moment that all Malaysians can relate to, which is the Malaysians culture of hanging out at Mamak.

“We thought about people culture when making an order at ‘Mamak’, then we incorporated them into the song lyrics in Malay, before getting the help of our two colleagues to translate sections of the lyrics into Tamil.” Hakim Kamal, the assistant composer cum main vocals performer of the song, added, “It was quite hard to get the pronunciation of the Tamil lyrics right, but after a month of practicing, our native speaker friends said my pronunciation was better than theirs!”

[Coverage] 《Astro中文电台媒体发布会》Astro Mandarin Radio Station Press Conference 2019

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – On 15^th December 2019, a press conference for Astro Radio Stations including MY, MELODY and GOXUAN was held whereby new DJs and the latest changes in the existing radio programme starting the year 2020 was announced. The media members get to meet and greet with the DJs during the press conference.

Starting from 2020, MY will be having an adjustment in the programmes. In addition to that, they have introduced a new radio announcer DJ Daniel 黄震宇. Daniel is born in 1994, with 183cm height. He has participated in 《创造营2019》before and now he is officially a part of MY. His programme will be during the session from 10am – 1pm. He will be sharing the news on the latest trends. It’s definitely something to look forward to.

Emely 潘毖伶who was originally hosting 10am-1pm session will be taking over the segment from 1pm-4pm. During her programme, she will be having a lot of interaction with the KOLs.

On the other hand, Wayne 符雁蓉<My Oh Yeah Buddy> will also be having some major changes in her night time programme in order to get closer to the audience.

Besides that, Ex-DJ Jym 庄靖毅 and Bernard 邱文博 will also be hosting a new programme called <MY Musang King Channel> every weekend! They will share many YouTube videos and ideas during this new programme.

Popular singer and YouTuber Danny 许佳麟will officially become a weekend DJ in MY sharing nice songs. He will also embark on a journey in search of the hidden Malaysian singing talents.

Worth-mentioning is, MY DJs Mei Yan Gan颜薇恩and DJ Yoon吴家润will also be hosting a segment during weekends. Yoonwill be sharing recommended Cantonese songs during the segment of 《MY一首好听的广东歌》while Mei Yan’s 《MY I Hear U》will be spreading warmth to the audiences by listening to the audiences’ problems and helping them.

As for MELODY, they have changed their motto into 《强打好歌，强大资讯》and aims to play familiar and good songs all the time and to provide the latest information to the audiences.

MELODY will have a new weekend DJ Jason Poon 潘小潘 hosting radio programme which talks about interior design of the house and sports news. 关翠汶 who had joined MELODY since July 2019 will be pairing up with Mei Sim云镁鑫to host 《女王驾到》which will be covering various topics in a relaxing method of presentation.

GOXUAN weekend DJ Lovell 陈馷佳 will now join Vivian 刘秀薇 hosting the after-work radio programme from 4pm-8pm called <GOXUAN go lepak>.'GOXUAN The Rising contest' winner Maq 赖铭泉 will also partner with Catherine 凯心 to host the weekend music chart <GOXUAN30>.

Besides that, there will be a few new weekend programmes which include <GOXUAN YouTuber 养成之路＞by Joe 曾耀祖，＜GOXUAN Annyeong Paksu＞ by Vivian 刘秀薇, and <GOXUAN 吃瓜群众> by Christal 叶炜纬. GOXUAN will also have a new first-ever 00's DJ Broco Lee 李伟俊, who won the third place in 'GOXUAN The Rising contest'.

The album has featured over 60 artistes and DJs and it marks the 12^th Astro Chinese New Year album to be released till date! It is now selling at the price of RM20 per album in all the POPULAR bookstores and major records distributor outlets.

This album consists of a total of 6 songs, which include 5 new songs <好运鼠于你> <圆圆圈> <祝你Happy New Year> <欢庆新一年> <数不尽的美好>and 1 traditional Chinese New Year song <今年要比去年好>.

Artists and singers had performed these songs on the stage on that day. It was ended with the song <好运鼠于你> by the group. Many people at the venue have bought the album and managed to get their favorite artists’ autographs on the spot.

Besides that, there will be a limited edition `好运鼠USB` (Only 3000 units available), to be sold at RM 29.90specifically for Astro users at all POPULAR bookstores. The USB also included all the songs from this new album.

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – The BrandLaureate Brand Icon Leadership Awards 2019 has presented the “Greatest Brand Awards for The Decade (2010 – 2020) on 17^thDecember 2019.

The event was graced byapproximately 1000 guests, including VVIPs, award winners, and representatives of top brandsacross various industries. The star-studded event was held at Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

These deserving winners, inclusive of Brand icons, reputable and preferred consumer brands, received The BrandLaureate 24K gold plated trophy and a glass-framed certificate, in recognition of the brand achievements and success.

During his opening speech, World President of The BrandLaureate Dr. KK Johansaid: “ICONS are both esteemed individuals as well as respected organizations and corporations. These awards are dedicated to ICONS who have contributed significantly to the development of their respective industries and ultimately the nation!”

Dr KK Johan explained that Brands must be promoted and made known to consumers so that they are well-positioned in consumers’ minds, and not their competitors. He also highlighted the importance of the Awards theme of the night – TO BE KNOWN.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs)

Three memorandums of understanding were also signed and exchanged between The World Brands Foundation (TWBF) and BSchool Australia, Seera Australia, and Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) during the awards ceremony.

Entertainment Highlights

Apart from the awards presentation, the show also featured top-notch entertainment! One of the highlights include dance performance from Jinjo Crew, No.1 Breakdancing Group from South Korea. They have put up an energetic performance on stage which has hyped up the audience!

The show also featured Jeryl Lee李佩玲and Masya Masyitah who are both very talented singer that have made their names big in the recent years. Both of them have their own solo performances as well as the duet performance of 《左肩》. Everyone in the venue was mesmerized by their marvelous performance.

Another memorable moment was when the legendary rock singer, Amy Search made his appearance on stage. He has impressed the audiences with his iconic performance of “Isabella”.

Besides, the show also includes a violin performance by Jessica Loo and a romantic singing performance by Eva & Louis.

ICON AWARDS 2019 HIGHLIGHTS

The BrandLaureate Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award: The Greatest Banking Icon of The Decade went to YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow, the Founder, Chairman Emeritus, Director and Adviser of Public Bank Berhad.

The BrandLaureate Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award: The Man of The Decade was presented to YBhg Professor Emeritus Tan Sri Dato' Sri Paduka Lord Dr. Lim Kok Wing, the Founder & President of Lim Kok Wing University of Creative Technology.

The BrandLaureate Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award: The Woman of The Decade was presented to YBhg Dato’ Seri Dr. Farah Khan, the Founder & President of The Melium Group.

The BrandLaureate Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award: The Master Brand Founder of The Decade was awarded to YBhg Tan Sri Dr. Lim Wee Chai, the Executive Chairman & Founder of Top Glove Corporation Berhad.

Other notable Awards for the night

The BrandLaureate Book of World Records was presented to YBhg Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. M. Mahadevan as the First Psychiatrist in Malaysia and The Father of Psychiatry in Malaysia.

Another Book of World Records was also presented to YAB Dato' Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Binti Dato’ Dr. Wan Ismail as The First Woman Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The BrandLaureate Premier Award 2019 was presented to Jinjo Crew, the BBOY Group from South Korea.

The BrandLaureate Greatest Iconic Brand of the Decade Award was presented to Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Bhd, and last but not least;

The BrandLaureate Certificate of Honour was presented to the 1992 Malaysian Thomas Cup Team for winning the Badminton Championship -- a record that they still hold until today.

[Coverage] Yisa Yu 郁可唯《路過人間》專輯宣傳活動聖誕聚會 Christmas Gathering In Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – In conjunction with Yisa Yu 郁可唯《路過人間》album promo tour in Malaysia, a Christmas gathering with fans was held in 大嘴叭 Loud Speaker Family Karaoke, MyTOWN Basement 1 on the 21st December 2019. It was a fun Christmas gathering as the fans get to interact with Yisa Yu in a close distance.

Sing-along Karaoke Session!

The Christmas Gathering began with Yisa Yu entering the Karaoke room andsinging her latest hit song 《路過人間》. All of the fans who were present that day sang along with her during the session.

There were many fans who have attended the gathering including our own Malaysia fans who have won the passes via competitions, as well as fans from other countries.

MY radio announcer Byun was the host of the session. He has interviewed Yisa Yu during the gathering and the fans get to know more about Yisa. Yisa has shared with the fans regarding her love for e-sports and she mentioned that it would be a cool career for a female to try on.

When asked by Byun on what’s her favorite feature of her ownself, she mentioned that it would be her vocal. Indeed, every fans would agree on that, because her voice is really mesmerizing!

Byun also asked her regarding her usual routine during Winter Solstice as the celebration was just a day after the promo tour. Yisa mentioned that usually they would be eating Jiaozi at home. This is something different from the tradition amongst the Malaysian Chinese as Tang Yuan was more commonly consumed during the season here. Out of the surprise, one of the fans actually told Yisa that they have prepared Tang Yuan for her. What a lovely scene!

Gifts Exchange Session!
Christmas is also a season to share and gift exchange is something not to be missed out. There was a gifts exchange session amongst the fans and Yisa Yu was the conductor during the session. One of the lucky fans (the same fans who prepared Tang Yuanfor Yisa) managed to draw the gift from Yisa Yu herself! What a lucky fans! In addition to that, Yisa also kept some candies in the pocket of her clothes and she tossed these candies to the other fans too!

Last but not least, there was a group photo session with Yisa Yu. It was a wonderful season gathering and Yisa Yu is indeed a humble singer with a great voice!

[Coverage] Yisa Yu 郁可唯《路過人間》專輯宣傳活動簽唱會Promo Tour @ The Boulevard, Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – Yisa Yu 郁可唯has come over to Malaysia on December 2019 for her《路過人間》album promo tour. Other than the Christmas gathering which our team has done a coverage on (check out the article here: https://www.wljack.com/2019/12/coverage-yisa-yu-christmas-gathering-in.html), she has also made an appearance in The Boulevard, Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur for a meet the fans and autograph session.

During the event, Yisa Yu has performed a total of 4 songs LIVE, including the title song《路过人间》as well as other three songs《三十而慄》,《我的城》and《十年如一日》. Her melodious voice was a great tympanic treat for the audiences!

On stage, she has also greeted the fans with Bahasa Malaysia, “Apa Khabar?”and she showed her love by saying “Aku Cinta Pada Mu”!

The composer for the song《三十而慄》, Percy Phang彭学斌 was also present during the event. He was invited on stage by the host, MY radio announcer Byun. Yisa mentioned that she was a bit nervous as she need to perform for the first time in front of the song composer himself. Percy was impressed by her voice control and her performance of the song. Yisa wished that she could have a Music Show in Malaysia in the future and she hoped to invite Percy Phang to her show if it is possible. She also hopes to collaborate with him again.

Another highlight in this album was, Yisa’s first attempt as the director for her music video. She felt that it can be quite tiring to be a director but she’s willing to learn. She hopes to have more of such opportunity again.

The event ended with Yisa taking a group photo with the audiences from the stage and proceeded with the autograph session. Our team really wish that she can have a music show or concert in Malaysia soon!

[Coverage] Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant (MACIP) 2019 Finale《Astro 国际华裔小姐2019》决赛

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – Main Sponsored by Adonis, Co-sponsored by Samsung、Alcon’s FreshLook® CC Lens and NIVEA, one of the most anticipated pageants in 2019, Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant (MACIP) 2019 Finale《Astro 国际华裔小姐2019》决赛has successfully taken place in MITEC, Kuala Lumpur on 21^stDecember 2019. The event witnessed the crowning of Jens 张简宁as the new beauty queen!

As mentioned in our previous post (Read the article here: https://www.wljack.com/2019/12/upcoming-event-astro2019miss-astro.html), the event this time has invited guest judges including Hong Kong Celebrities Teresa Mo毛舜筠, Benjamin Yuen袁伟豪and Singaporean Celebrity Qi Yuwu 戚玉武. Local judges include famous actor, DJ announcer and director Jack Lim 林德荣and Adonis爱美雅CEO Ann Lee李津梅. The show has also featured famous HK celebrity Sammy Leung 森美as the host of the show.

During the finale, all of the top 8 finalists have to go through a few rounds of challenges that tested them on the catwalk, speech fluency and eloquency, body physique and overall presentation.

Jens 张简宁has impressed everyone in her final round of Q&A session with the “Devil Judge”, a.k.a the host Sammy Leung himself. When asked about which job would she preferred between being a housewife, a politician or a forensic, she chose to be a housewife. The reasoning behind her answer was flawless and this has touched the heart of the audiences. Apart from that, her overall performance in other categories have also been outstanding! Ultimately, she triumphed as the champion for the pageant and she’s totally deserved it.

Rennie廖贝仪who is a nutritionist has come close as the first runner-up of the night. Besides, she also won the “Most Body Beautiful完美体态女神” prize.

On the other hand, Xuan 陈丽璇has been awarded as the second runner-up for the pageant show, she also won the “Miss Photogenic最上镜女神” award.

Due to her popularity, the 21 years old pilot, Cecelia方歆儿has won the “Miss Popular人气女神” category.

Other than that, there are also a lot of highlights during the show that’s worth mentioning such as the performance by Nicole Lai赖淞凤, Apple 邱诗凌, Jacqueline 程玲and李玉钦during the catwalk show. Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant 2016 Champion, Serene林宣妤has also made an appearance during a special segment whereby the finalists have to perform a dance based on their real jobs in life.

Serene shared that she has taken part in a film titled《夕雾花园 The Garden of Evening Mists》which also starring Lee Sinje李心洁. The film will be released in Malaysia soon. Do stay tuned.

Post Event Interview

During the interview, Jens张简宁expressed that she’s grateful for the efforts by the crews who have made the pageant a successful one. She also thanked all her family members and friends for being so supportive. She felt that she was very lucky to be the champion of the night. She hopes to get involved in the entertainment field especially in being a host.

Rennie mentioned that she felt calmer during the pageant when she saw all of her supporters. This made her able to focus more during the competition. Xuan said that she would miss the times spent with her fellow finalists during the 4 months of intensive training together.

The judges overall felt satisfied with the outcome of the event.

[Coverage] Comic Fiesta 2019

Kuala Lumpur, December 2019 – One of the Malaysia most anticipated Anime-Comic-Game (ACG) events of the year, Comic Fiesta 2019 has taken place at the end of the year 2019, on 21^stand 22^nd December 2019. The event that happened at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) was a grand gathering for the ever growing ACG and cosplay community in our region. It has garnered a whopping amount of approximately 60,000 visitors over the weekend.

One of the main highlights of the event was the special panel on “The Art Of Monetizing Web Comics” which featured famous web artists including Ernest Ng, Nixon Siow and Fish Ball.

Manga Artist, Rino Mizuho famous for her works on “Magis Manis Coklat” also made an appearance in Comic Fiesta 2019 with an exclusive panel session too. The event also featured a special live-drawing session by Kaoru Mori, the award-winning manga artist behind Shirley, Emma and A Bride’s Story.

Another exciting highlight of the event was the presence of Kana Ueda, who is best known as the seiyuu (Voice over actress) for Rin Tohsaka in Fate Stay Night. Her other prominent works include voicing over for Hayate Yagami in the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series, Rachel Alucard inBlazBlue and most recently Ishtar and Ereshkigal in Fate/Grand Order anime.

Metronomik’s No Straight Roads Game has also taken the stage with the appearance of Wan Hazmer, the famous game designer from Malaysia and Mariko Honda, the voice behind Yuuko Aioi of Nichijou, Lion of Kemono Friends and Uzume Tennouboshi (Orange Heart) from the gameMegadimension Neptunia VII.

There were also many other activities on ground during Comic Fiesta 2019including butler and maid café by Le Petit Fox, video game competitions as well as amazing performances by local performers and DJs.

It was overall an amazing weekend which I am sure every anime-manga fans would have enjoyed! We are really looking forward for the future Comic Fiesta in Malaysia again!

[Coverage] 2020 AIM 中文音乐颁奖典礼

Kuala Lumpur, January 2020- One of the most anticipated awards show of the year

“2020 AIM 中文音乐颁奖典礼” has taken place on 4^th January 2020. (check out our previous article here: https://www.wljack.com/2019/11/entertainment-2020-aim-announcement-of.html).

The awards show aims to recognize the contributions of local music talents in the industry. It is not an easy task to organize Mandarin Music award show in Malaysia. Thus, kudos to the committees for their efforts in making it a success.

Star-Studded Red Carpet Ceremony!

Before the award show, there was a red carpet ceremony which was graced by some familiar faces such TJ 东于哲, SHIO 郭修彧，Phoebe Yap 菲比，Gin Lee 李幸倪, Abin 方炯鑌and etc. We also get to see guests from overseas including 家家Jia Jia and Alan Kuo 柯有綸.

Big Winners of The Night: Namewee 黃明志!

Gin Lee Won The Best Female Singer While Abin Fang Won The Best Male Singer!

Despite not being present during the awards show due to other work schedules, Namewee has swept away 4 major awards during 2020 AIM 中文音乐颁奖典礼namely The Best Album 最佳专辑, Best Lyrics Writing 最佳作词, Best Album Design最佳专辑设计and Most Streamed Song 最高串流量歌曲. He became the biggest winner of the night! Some of the awards speech delivered by him via proxy was very funny yet true. One of them includes, “Please don’t believe what people said about Music not being a money-making career. Because I have made a lot of money via my music album”.

On the other hand, Abin and Gin Lee have won Best Male Singer and Best Female Singer respectively. Abin said “不好意思 (Excuse Me)” to his fellow nominees when he managed to grab away the award. He has received the award from Sinje Lee (One of Malaysia's most popular international actress). Gin Lee who has debuted since 2009 felt happy that she could receive the awards after 10 years since she ventured her career into the music industry.

There were also awards specially allocated for the Classics style music. The winners for Best Male Singer (Classics) was Wilson Tin (曾潍山) and Best Female Singer (Classics) was Yudi Yap 友弟.

There was a tough competition for The Best Newcomers. Eventually, the top 3 winners for the awards were SHIO 郭修彧(Gold), Evangeline Wong王艳薇(Silver) and Daniel Chezi车志立(Bronze). SHIO was shocked and surprised that she was the winner of the category. She even dropped her prepared speech sheet when the winner announcement was made.

Highlights:

The event was hosted by Royce 陈志康. He mentioned that hosting a show nowadays can be quite difficult. On stage, he even performed multiple times of “Kill This Love” dance.

Marvelous singing performances by local artistes as well as guest artiste 家家Jia Jia!

Special guest presenters appearance by Ah Niu and Sinje Lee.

[Coverage] 八度空间新春年会（8TV CNY Fiesta 2020）开幕及演唱会

Kuala Lumpur, January 2020 – Organized by Build Up Resources Sdn Bhd and presented by 8TV, 8TV Chinese New Year Fiesta 2020 has taken place at Parkir B, Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil.A series of fun activities have taken place on 11th January 2020.

8TV CNY Promo Activity“笑笑力量大”造势活动!

One of the activities that has taken place during 8TV CNY Fiesta 2020 was 8TV CNY Promo Activity“笑笑力量大”造势活动. During the session, the fans get to interact with 8TV Celebrities on stage including Rickman 谢承伟，Henley 许亮宇，Joey 梁祖仪，Jordan 盛天俊，Yuan原腾，Coby庄可比，Remon林奕廷，Ernest张顺源and Ziah张熙恩. They have performed some of the Chinese New Year songs as well as playing on-stage games with lucky fans.

8TV CNY Fiesta 2020 Opening Ceremony!

8TV CNY Fiesta kicked off with the performance of 24 Flower Drums by Taylor’s International School KL. It was then officiated by Deputy Minister of Federal Territories YB Datuk Dr. Shahruddin Md Salleh. Originally, there was a plan for drones performance. However, the drones performance was canceled due to unsuitable weather conditions.

Before the performance by artistes, there was a martial arts performance by YuXueYuan Academy. The show started with the performance by the first lineup Peggy 侯美仪 who has brought the excitement of the crowd up with her Hokkien songs!

It was then followed with the performance by Daniel Lee 李吉汉who mesmerized everyone with his songs. It was full of nostalgia!

There was a surprise artist appearance during the concert. “凉凉哥”邝珌万has made an appearance and amazed the crowd with his amazing duo vocals. It was a tympanic treat when he sang “凉凉” live！

Another great highlight of the night was the performance by Masya Masyitah玛莎. Apart from singing “Standing In The Eyes Of The World”, she impressed the audience by singing Cantonese song “月半小夜曲” as well as China famous TikTok songs “毕竟深爱过” and “不仅仅是喜欢”.

Louis 陈松年then took over the stage with his cover songs performance.

We can’t deny how much we love 李佩玲Jeryl Lee’s performance. She totally has stolen the stage with her powerful voice! We were enthralled by her performance of “说”，“心有独钟” and “Fight Song”! She even proved that she can do rapping too by covering G.E.M.’s “差不多姑娘”！

After Jeryl Lee, the show continued with the performance by Abin 方泂鑌who just recently won Best Male Singer in AIM 2020 (check out our coverage for AIM 2020 here: https://www.wljack.com/2020/02/coverage-2020-aim.html ). He has performed a few songs including “一千个晚安”，“遗憾” and “坏人”. The audience sang along as he performed “坏人”.

Last but not least, the final act for the night was Nicholas Teo 張棟樑. It’s been such a long time since we heard him perform “黄昏” Live! He then proceeded with “当你孤单你会想起谁”. As for the encore song, he sang a Chinese New Year song, “贺新年”!

Other On Ground Activities!

Besides the concert, the event also has many on-ground activities such as gifts stores, food stalls and etc.

Overall, it was a fun-filled event with memorable performances! What a good way to start a brand new Lunar year!

[Coverage] Press Conference and Movie Premiere of “Good Wealth 2020 财神2020”

Kuala Lumpur, February 2020 – “Good Wealth 《财神2020》” is one of the movies in CNY Slot this year! The movie is a local film that casts HK artiste Bob Lam林盛斌as the main protagonists as well as other local artistes such as Alvin Chong 钟瑾桦, Meiyan颜薇恩, Jordan Voon 温绍平and etc. The movie is directed by Teddy Chin陳立謙.

The press conference for the movie was held at Persatuan Penganut Dewa Yufeng Cai Bo Xing Jun whereby the rite of worship was held.

During the press conference, Bob shared that he has given up his Japanese trip with his family to attend the promo tour for the film. He also mentioned that Jack Lim林德荣has made a crossover cameo appearance in this film while he made a cameo in Jack’s film.

Bob also mentioned that, if the ticket sales for the movie can break beyond the grosses of RM 3,880,000, he would try Bungee Jump from KL Tower.

Meiyan on the other hand expresses that her character design this time is the “most exposed” role she has ever taken up.

Jordan Voon温绍平who played as the God of Prosperity this time has tried something new whereby he blended in some trendy sentence in his dialogues. This is not the typical God of Prosperity you have always seen presented on screen.

Movie Premiere

The movie premiere of “Good Wealth 2020 财神2020” has taken place at GSC Midvalley whereby the audiences get to see the presence of the whole casts ensemble. Alvin Chongwho played the role of son for Bob Lam’s character also present during the movie premiere.

[Entertainment] Kenneth Ma Is In Relationship With Roxanne Tong? Comfirmed via Instagram!

Hong Kong, June 2020 – Recently, one of our favourite Hong Kong artiste Kenneth Ma 馬國明has just finally started his first Instagram account (https://www.instagram.com/kennethmkm/) on 9^th June 2020 and has gained a total of 148k followers within just 3 days time. This is not the only good news for the fans. Via his Instagram account, we managed to capture a lot of clues of his latest relationship. There’s so much joy in it.

Kenneth Ma kept it low in terms of whose accounts he’s following on Instagram. Till date of 13/6/2020, he only followed 49 accounts which are mostly his other celebrities friends. One of them are none other than Roxanne Tong 湯洛雯 (https://www.instagram.com/roxannetong/).

Recently, HK paparazzi has caught Kenneth visiting Roxanne’s residence and he stayed at her place for over 4 hours. The HK reporters have approached Kenneth and asked regarding their relationship. At that time, he did not confirm about it yet.
