Kuala Lumpur. July 2019 – It was 7 years ago since Christine Fan (Fan Fan) 范玮琪 last came to Malaysia. This time around, she has finally come back to our shore again for her concert tour “在幸福的路上” which was held on 7^th July 2019 at KLCC Plenary Hall. Prior to the show, a press conference and fans meeting was held at Da Men Mall, Subang Jaya.

During the press conference and fans meeting, Fan Fan has greeted the fans! “It’s been a long time since I last came to here”, Fan Fan expressed. She even sang a small segment of the song “启程” as a short teaser for the fans before the concert.

She also revealed that she’s currently preparing for her new album. The progress of the making of the album is currently approximately 40% of completion. She wishes to complete the album by next year as a gift for herself in conjunction with her 20^th years of debut.

Fan Fan also requested the fans to enjoy the show and do not be shy. She also planned to sing the songs by other fellow artistes, one of them is Fish Leong’s song. After the sweet press conference, Fan Fan has signed autographs for her fans!

Kuala Lumpur. July 2019 – As mentioned in our previous post (Check out the article: https://www.wljack.com/2019/07/press-conference-coverage-fanfan-press.html), it was 7 years ago since Christine Fan (Fan Fan) 范玮琪came to Malaysia. Christine Fan has finally come to our shore again for her concert tour “在幸福的路上” which was held on 7^th July 2019at KLCC Plenary Hall. Our team has been given a golden opportunity to do a coverage on the event.

First Christine Fan’s Concert In Malaysia!

Organized by JINQUAN金泉 and VISM维智, co-organized by ACO有种娱乐, Christine Fan范玮琪《在幸福路的上》世界巡回演唱会World Tour Concert In Malaysia has been held successfully on 7^thJuly 2019. The concert has been a great treat for the fans who have waited for Christine Fan’s concert for such a long time. This was the first time for Christine Fan to have a concert here in Malaysia.

Angelic Singer With Melodic Voice!
Christine Fan (a.k.a Fan Fan) has changed and swapped many dresses during the show. All of these clothes were very elegant and they fit her well. In fact, she looked as stunning as an angel who mesmerized the audience with her melodic voice. She kicked off the show with the concert title song “在幸福的路上”. Then, followed by a number of her popular songs including “想太多”，“我们的纪念日”，“旅程”，“黑白配”and etc.

Cross-Dimensional Cameo Appearance!

Fan Fan has “invited” a few of her celebrities friends as the cameo for the concert including 小S, A-Mei and Lee Hom via a cross-dimensional method. These celebrities appeared in her concert via multimedia format including footage of them which were played during the show. The most prominent is definitely Lee Hom’s “Cameo” whereby he was shown on big-screen playing guitar background for the song of 《那些花儿》.

Apart from that, Fan Fan has also sung the cover for a few songs including Faye Wong’s《旋木》, Fish Leong’s 《会呼吸的痛》and Stefanie Sun’s 《我不难过》. Her version of these songs were spectacular too!

Besides, the concert also featured some very sweet footage of her current life and approach to happiness. There was a footage of her and her husband in an “old couple” form. What a delightful sight!

In addition to that, there was a moment of Kiss Cam whereby the random couple caught on screen have to kiss each other. Most of the couples who attended the show were so sporting!

The show reached its finale after 20+ songs were performed by Fan Fan. Despite reaching the end, the fans never leave the venue and cheered for an encore. Christine Fan then came back on stage in her casual attire. She mentioned that she has never expected so many people to stay back after her last song. The fans requested her to sing 《悄悄告诉你》as an encore. Without any background music, she sang the song as per requested by the fans with the help of a staff holding an iPad to display the lyrics for her.

Overall, it was a really satisfying concert and definitely a great night for all of Christine Fan’s fans!

Kuala Lumpur, July 2019 - Malaysia will once again stage an UNFORGETTABLE performance by Universal Music artiste Yannick Bovy in the upcoming “YANNICK BOVY CELEBRATES 100 YEARS OF NAT KING COLE” which is to be held on 4^th and 5^th October 2019 at Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur.

In 2019, Nat King Cole - the founding father of silky ballads and catchy swing was and still is one of the best crooners who ever lived would have celebrated his 100^th birthday. Nat King Cole is the King of Swing, that is what our very own Yannick Bovy also thinks.

To honour the grandmaster, the young crooner from Belgium went digging through Mr. Cole’s enormous repertoire to set up a musical celebration and will tour around the globe together with a mighty swinging live band. They will bring to life unforgettable hits like “When I fall in love”, “Mona Lisa”, “Let’s face the music and dance”, “L.O.V.E” and “Unforgettable”.

The album was released in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Brazil, Korea, Indonesia and Malaysia in April 2019 and as part of his world tour , he will be coming to perform in Istana Budaya from 4^th – 5^th October 2019.

Kuala Lumpur, July 2019 – It was a really fun night on 19^thJuly 2019 as [ALEXANDROS] Sleepless In Kuala Lumpur 2019 was successfully held at Bentley Music Auditorium. The show was the second [ALEXANDROS] Live Concert in Malaysia and everyone would definitely agree that they have had a lot of fun in both of the concerts! [ALEXANDROS] Rocked The Stage!

Best known as the band that plays a mixture of alternative and hard rock, [ALEXANDROS] also include the elements of pop punk and emo, making their music a wide appeal! These music has rocked the stage in Bentley Music Auditorium that weekend as the Japanese band amazed the audience with their upbeat and energetic performance!

The audience this year around consists of not just the locals but a lot of foreign fans as well. The fans were evidently more sporting this time as seen via their actions of singing along and jumping along as their favorite Japanese boy band performed on stage!

The show kicked off with [ALEXANDROS] singing “LAST MINUTE” followed by“Dracula La”, “Starrrrrrr”, “I Don’t Believe In You”, “Waitress, Waitress!” and etc. You can feel your blood is boiling and your heart is beating stronger as the band enthralled the audiences with their massive surge of energy! One of the peak of the show was when [ALEXANDROS] performed “Mosquito Bite”, the original soundtrack for the LIVE Action Anime film “Bleach”.

“Seronok Tak?”

Apart from the common greetings in Bahasa Malaysia like “Aku Cinta Padamu”and etc, [ALEXANDROS] was very creative in their interactions with fans as they spoke this sentence of “Seronok Tak?” more than any other common sentences. “Seronok Tak” means “are you having fun” in English. The local fans were delighted and replied a big “Yes” as Yoohei playfully said this sentence.

After a long list of songs performed, [ALEXANDROS] hyped up the atmosphere even more with another 4 more encore songs namely “Burger Queen”, “Pray”, “月色ホライズン (Tsukiiro Horizon)” and “ワタリドリ(Wataridori)”.

Kuala Lumpur, July 2019 – The 3^rdMalaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) has taken place on the 20^th July 2019 at the prestigious Istana Budaya, Kuala Lumpur.The event was held successfully with the presence of local as well as international filmmakers and artistes!

Red Carpet Ceremony: Gold & Glittering Presence!

The event was graced by many renowned artistes as well as the film industry contributors who are well-recognized. Some of the artistes who were present during the red carpet ceremony include Lee Sinje, Bront Paralae, Fabian Loo, Koe Yeet, Joey Leong, Sherlyn Seo, Carmen Soo, Priscilla Abby, Masya Saritah as well as some international artistes such as Cecilia Yip, Petrina Fung, the legendary martial art superstar Sammo Hung and etc.

Awards Show Kicked Off With 24 Season Drums Performance! Great Appreciation of movies from different countries!

The awards ceremony kicked off with an upbeat 24 seasons drum performance which heated up the atmosphere before the announcement of winners for different categories!

Highlights of the Night!

The night witnessed the presentation of Lifetime Achievement Award to Sammo Hung, the legendary “Big Big Brother”in HK Martial Arts Film Industry. The awards presenter was the veteran HK actress Petrina Fung who shared her excitement as well when she presented the awards to Sammo. Sammo Hung was delighted and he mentioned that in the past, if he couldn’t win any award from an award show, he would be satisfied if he could get the prize money. This time, he has finally achieved his goal of winning the award and he felt grateful for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Two of the biggest winners of the night were definitely the team for “Hat-Trick” and “House of Hummingbird” as both of these films have grabbed away 3 awards respectively.

“Hat-Trick” was awarded the title of “Best Film” in MGGA 2019 as well as sweeping away another two awards which are “Best Supporting Actor” to Saber Abar and “Best Screenplay” to Ramtin Lavafi. Ramtin Lavafi mentioned that it was his birthday a day before the awards show and these awards were the greatest presents for his birthday this year.

Another film which has stolen the limelight of the awards show was “House Of Hummingbird”. Kim Bora who directed “House of Hummingbird” was recognized as the “Best Director” in the third MGGA. The film also won the Best Supporting Actress award and the Best Cinematography award. Kim Bora was thankful for the awards and the supports shown by the juries as well as the audiences. During the press conference post-awards show, she also took the opportunity to introduce the main actress for her film Park Ji-Hoo who is a very talented young actress.

On the other hand, Lukman Sardifrom “27 Steps of May” and Sara Bahrami from
“Axing” were awarded as the Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.

The 3rd Malaysia Golden Global Awards was honoured of having Petrina Fung (Hong Kong), Nicholas Saputra (Indonesia), Zig Madamba Dulay (Philippines), U-Wei Haji Saari (Malaysia), Umie Aida (Malaysia), Iedil Putra (Malaysia), Sangeeta Krishnasamy (Malaysia)and Zizan Razak (Malaysia) to be the awards presenters. Besides, Joanne Goh (founder and chairman of Malaysia International Film Festival and Malaysia Golden Global Awards), Kim Dong Ho (Honorary President of Malaysia International Film Festival and Malaysia Golden Global Awards), Kim Hyung Koo (jury panel), Cecilia Yip (jury panel), Sinje Lee (festival ambassador), Bront Palarae (festival ambassador), Dato Hans Isaac (Chairman of FINAS Malaysia)also joined the awards presenter panel of the year.

[Movie Review] Kingdom (2019 Japanese Film)

[Movie Review] Kingdom (2019 Japanese Film)

Kingdom is a Japanese action-adventure film that is based on the manga adaptation of the same title. The movie tells the story of ancient China and revolves the story of how Shin (played by Kento Yamazaki) assists Ei sei who better known as The Qin Emperor (played by Ryo Yoshizawa) in reclaiming his throne. What is the journey that awaits them? Let’s find out in your nearest cinema now.

The movie is directed by Shinsuke Sato who has directed a few manga adapted films before including Bleach (2018) and Death Note: Light Up The New World (2016). With Shinsuke’s past experience in directing manga/anime adaption film, it’s not a wonder how he could manage to pull it off in delivering another one successfully. The cinematography of the movie is great and there are many great action sequences in the film that could amaze the audiences. I really love the action choreography especially those fights that involve Shinagainst another few formidable foes.

As for the writing aspect of the film, it is very close and true to its source material and the fans are definitely going to be delighted. For those who have never read Kingdom before, fret not, as the plot was conveyed clearly throughout the film. Thus, no prior manga or ancient China knowledge is really required before you watch the movie. You will still get to indulge in the storyline of the 2-hours long movie.

In terms of acting, I felt both Kento Yamazaki and Ryo Yoshizawa have done a quite remarkable job in depicting both Shin and Ei Sei/Hyo respectively. Kento Yamazaki has infused some of the comical elements of the character with his often exaggerated and confident dialogues which is very well done considering this is a manga adaptation film. The manga fans will definitely enjoy his interpretation of this role. As for Ryo Yoshizawa, I think he did a convincing job in portraying two different characters which are Hyo and Ei Sei. Despite being the same actor, the different roles could make the audience believe it’s totally two different persons.

On the other hand, the original soundtracks for this film are very upbeat and moving. Additional emotions are delivered via these soundtracks alongside the great fighting and war scenes.

For me, the downside of the film would be the outfit and designs for some of the characters in the film. It felt almost like cosplayers from some anime/manga expo joining in for the shooting. Of course, it is understandable too as this is really a manga-adaptation film. However, I wish the designs could blend more with the reality like how some western comic adaptation movies able to do.

Overall, I really love the movie and I think it’s definitely worth a watch even though you may not be a manga fan!

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – “Anne-Marie Live In Malaysia 2019” has taken place on 22^nd July 2019 and it was brought to us by Lazada in partnership with Warner Music Malaysia.

Prior to the show, a few lucky winners were given earlier access into the venue as they get to meet and greet with Anne-Marie in person. After that, the gate was opened for entrance and the audiences rushed into the concert room with lots of excitement.

Kicking off the show were two local acts which have livened up the atmosphere before the main star of the show appeared on stage. All of the fans screamed in joy as they saw their idol Anne-Marie came on stage. She has amazed the crowd with a powerful opening of “Ciao Adios”.

She then continued the concert with the performance of her other popular singles such as “Cry”, “Alarm”, “Do It Right” and etc. In between the songs, she has also taken her time to interact with the fans and greeted the audience with some Bahasa Malaysia too. She even mentioned “Saya Suka Makanan Malaysia” which means “I love Malaysian Food”.

All of Anne-Marie’s performances were upbeat and mostly consisted of her jumping around on stage with some karate-like martial arts moves in rhythm with the beats of her songs. All of her moves and on-stage charisma made the performance so full of power and the flow of energy passed on to the crowd! The whole concert was so energetic and hyped up!

Anne-Marie was very good at getting the audiences involved in her act too. During the song “Trigger”,she instructed the crowd to follow her moves and the audiences have shown full cooperation in that.

The show reached its peak when Anne-Marie performed two of her greatest hits which are “Rockabye” and “2002”. The fans sportingly sang along during her performance for these two songs.

Before she proceeded with her last song, she even changed her attire into Malaysian Jersey of “Harimau Malaya”. Finally, she mesmerized the audience with her last song of the night, “FRIENDS”.

Overall, it was a marvellous concert by Anne-Marie! Million thanks to Lazada and Warner Music Malaysia for bringing her over to our shore for such a great LIVE performance.

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – Recently I have visited Tiffin Food Court which is located at The Warehouse, Behind The Gasket Valley(Opposite Jaya One Shopping Mall) as it is located near my current working place.

Tiffin Food Court kicked off since 25^th July 2019 and will be available for a limited time of 6 weeks up till 1^st September 2019. The food and drink gathering will begin from 5pm onwards till late.

The event consists of over 60 F&B Outlets and it’s a great gathering spot for foodies. There are different line-ups of culinary offerings and there are different themes on specific dates.

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – Both me and my wife are big fans of Marvel Cinematic Universe! When we first heard that Marvel Studios Exhibition will be organized in Malaysia, we felt so excited about it! We have finally made our footsteps into this wonderful exhibition last week!

The exhibition will take place for 4 months from 28^th June 2019 – 27^th October 2019 at Pavilion Elite KL, Level 10. (It’s located near Haidilao Hot Pot).

The tickets for entrance are as below:

Adult: RM 48 (MYKAD), RM 58 (Normal)

Child: RM 28 (MYKAD), RM 38 (Normal)

If you are keen to create a custom Avengers ID Card, you may proceed with a photo-taking at the entrance of the exhibition. (The avengers ID card will cost you a little, but for memories, I felt it’s worth it)

Avengers Assemble!

Before we enter into the exhibition, the exhibition staff gave us a code to shout at. “Avengers Assemble!” Then we were guided into the exhibition whereby we get to explore the artefacts, concept arts and some original props used in Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – Last month was a great month filled with lots of happenings! One of the major happenings which I am excited to share about was Japan Expo Malaysia 2019 which has taken place from 26^thJuly 2019 – 28^th July 2019 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur!

Biggest All-Japan Event In Malaysia!

Japan Expo Malaysia 2019 (JEMY 2019) was definitely the biggest Japanese event in Malaysia this year and it has attracted over 180,000 visitors from both locally and also internationally! This was the third consecutive years for Pavilion KL to hold this event and it was a fun-filled weekend!

The event was organized by G-Yu Creative and co-organized by Siam Connection Sdn Bhd. It has offered a lot of Japanese goodness in various ways! Over that weekend, you could have a good exposure over the travel offers to Japan, arts and cultures, Performances from Japanese artistes (Huge line-ups), Meet and Greet with celebrities, cosplay activities as well as many interactive contests!

The line-ups this year were superb! The list includes AKB48, along with other popular Japanese singers such as KIREI, KIIYAMA SHOUTEN, DJ HELLO KITTY, cosmic!!, Riona Hamamatsu, Yoyogi Jyoshi Ongakuin, SORGENTI, Chocolate Bomb!!, YUMEOI SYOUJYO, KOUSUKE ATARI and etc!

My favourite was AKB48’s performance! There were only 6 members who have come to Malaysia this time, namely Mion Mukaichi, Megu Taniguchi, Rin Okabe, Nana Okada, Yui Oguri and Nagisa Sakaguchi! The girls have made all of the visitors hyped up during their performance! They have performed a total of 5 songs and have totally mesmerized the fans!

The rest of the performers have also amazed the visitors with their great performances! The Japanese Music Fans could get the best out of it as there were simultaneous and consecutive LIVE Concerts which were happening at the Main Stage as well as the Outdoor Stage of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur!

Massive Amount Of Ongoing Activities!
Apart from the surreal amount of performances, the visitors also get to indulge themselves in many activities during the expo. The fans for the Japanese idols could even get the rare opportunity to meet and greet with their favourite celebrities. You could also take photos with them at their booth! It was like a dream came true for many!

Besides, many other interesting activities such as Cosplay Parade, Kyudo Performance, Kendo Performance and etc have also kept all of the visitors entertained throughout! Some have even won some prizes via the on-ground contests available during the event.

Those who were interested in the Japanese Culture and Arts were also given a chance to learn more about Origami, Kendo and Kyudo. Not forget to mention, informative booths about Japan Travel and Tour were also available during that weekend!

Overall, it was a really complete Japanese experience at JAPAN EXPO MALAYSIA 2019! Really looking forward for the next JEMY to happenagain in Malaysia!

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – Just a week ago, our team from www.wljack.comhas attended a media group interview for 8TV 2020 CNY Song Music Video Shooting. It was such a lively session!

Spreading Happiness with the theme of “鼠来宝，笑笑力量大”!

In conjunction with the upcoming zodiac year of mouse, 8TV has started shooting for their upcoming 2020 CNY song titled “《笑笑力量大》”. The theme for next year would be “鼠来宝，笑笑力量大”. The reason for them to choose this theme is because the Malaysian’s happiness ranking has dropped from No. 35^thto No.80^th based on The World Happiness Report. Because of that, 8TV hopes that the upcoming CNY campaign can encourage everyone to contribute a little effort in promoting greater happiness!

8Happiness Ambassadors微笑大使!

In addition to that, 8 artistes were announced as the 微笑大使 Happiness Ambassadors for the upcoming 8TV CNY Campaign. These 8 celebrities are Rickman谢承伟, Joey梁祖仪, Jordan盛天俊, Orange陈慧恬, Henley许亮宇, Emily陈子颖, Wilson李伟燊 and Sherlyn萧丽玲. Only 7 of them were present during the interview as Emily was involved in a drama-shooting in a foreign country.

During the interview, all of the artistes also highlighted the challenges they faced during the recording. Jordan felt that he could sing the high pitch part of the song but has difficulty in performing the low pitch ones.

On the other hand, Rickman mentioned that he has to adjust his pitch accordingly as the demo was based on a female vocal. Some of them also highlighted that the hardest part of the recording was the group singing part.

During the interview, they have shared their experience in the shooting process. They highlighted that each and every one of them has their own tasks in spreading positive energy and joy. They revealed that their characters in the video will be given own respective tasks in helping other celebrities like Jan秦雯彬, Desmond郑瑞钥, Chrystina黄玮瑄, Wind李诗斌, Happy颜洁颖, Natalie小玉, Ley Teng陈丽亭, Lynn林绿and etc.

The artistes jokingly highlighted that they already have experience in shooting CNY Music Video so it will be easier for some of them. (Some of them have been recurrently featured in the previous Media Prima CNY Campaign).

However, Henley mentioned that he was not well-prepared before the recording session. He felt that the recording session was a bit tougher than what he has expected as he needs to do a rap part for the song. Thus, during the interview, the other artistes were teasing him saying that he didn’t do enough “homework”. It was a funny moment during the interview session.

Another highlight is that the song was composed by our local talented singer Yise. So we can definitely anticipate a promising CNY song next year from 8TV!

Kuala Lumpur, August 2019 – Earlier this month, our team has witnessed the record-breaking moment as our local magician Vikneswaran Allagu (better known as Vikey) has attempted the Water Torture Escape whereby his hands and legs were restrained while he was placed inside the glass tank filled with water. It was an adrenaline rush moment to see him making the escape.

All of them have showcased great dexterity in their performances. The audiences have the opportunity to watch spectacular cabaret magic tricks, skilful sleight of hand, quick mask-changing as well as costume changing performances, while also get entertained by some laughter moment and delightful interactions with the magicians.

Adrenaline-Pumping Books of Records Moment!
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, the show let us witnessed a record breaking moment as Vikey made his name into The Malaysia Book Of Records for being the fastest to escape the water torture cell. He was able to achieve the escape within 3 minutes and 16 seconds.

Apart from that, the show also broke another record in The Malaysia Book of Records for being the largest gathering of magician performers in a magic show.

8TV “Back To You 当时明月在” tells a unique story of how a mother was separated from the youngest daughter of a pair of twins due to family poverty and father’s decision to keep the son instead of the daughter.

After 28 years of search, the mother Xiu Min (played by Remon Lim)finally get to meet up with her daughter, who is now named Sufia (played by Jasmine Suraya Chin) as she was adopted and raised by a Malay family. The tension was raised when Sofia’s adopted mother, Kamariah (played by Azizah Mahzan) found out that Sofia has already met her biological mother.

What will happen to Xiu Min and Sofia? What is Sofia’s final decision? Will she choose to stay with her adopted family or will she go back to her real family?

A Unique Malaysian Movie!

“Back To You 当时明月在” is a really unique Malaysia movie which involves the different cultures of multiracial families in our country. The theme is something exclusive in Malaysia and trust me, not many local movies have been able to deliver such an in-depth culture exploration as much as this one.

I really love the heart-warming story of how the Chinese mother Xiu Min trying to get reconnected with her youngest child. The scenes of how she tried to learn Bahasa Malaysia from a Mandarin Speaking Malay burger seller Lisa in order to communicate with her child was really touching. The way Xiu Min speaks out phrases in BM are just so tear-jerking. Kudos to Remon Lim for delivering such a marvellous performance.

Of course, Jasmine Suraya Chin has also portrayed the character of Sofia very well. She has successfully depicted the struggles that Sofia has to face since young in a family of different race. Her acting is very natural and it makes the character so believable.

We also can’t forget about the performance by Azizah Mahzan too. The adopted mother role, Kamariah is an overly-protective mother who is quite dramatic and Azizahhas provided a lot of laughter throughout the show.

Not to forget, Ernest Chong who plays the other twin Zhi Chen is equally good at his role too. One of the scenes in which he explained to the sister regarding his life for the past 28 years is quite pitiful. His performance deserves a clap too.

Apart from the themes and actors’ performance, I really love the direction of the film and the cinematography. Most of the scenes were shot in great quality. Although it is a telemovie, the quality is nothing less than a big screen film. The pacing of the show is quite balanced. Between every story-telling moments, there will be some funny scenes which will cheer the audiences up apart from making the audiences cry over the touching scenes.

The open-ended final scene leaves the audiences with many possibilities and I personally really love this approach. There is no right or wrong in Xiu Min’s and Sofia’s final decision but making the film ends this way just created more imaginative space for the audience.

The movie is really an entertaining one with meaningful message. Really enjoyed it very much.

Prior to the showing of the movie in 8TV, there was a premiere screening at Central-i City TGV, the first cinema in Malaysia with Samsung ONYX LED screen. It was a really great visual treat!

During the red carpet session, Remon Lim mentioned that this was the first time for her to see the whole movie herself. She's very anxious about her performance. The premiere is something like a report card reception session for her. Well, I believe everyone would agree that if this is a report card, it's definitely an "A" for her performance in the movie.

Jasmine Suraya Chin and Ernest also introduced their characters in the film. They highlighted that there was a scene whereby Jasmine has to speak a lengthy BM dialogue then responded by Ernest in BM too. It was a challenge for Ernest because he admitted that he is not too fluent in his BM.

Amber Chia who is a model-actress, on the other hand, has shared some tips on how to pick the right handbags to suit each individual. She also advised the girls to get at least a few handbags at home so that they can have more choices to match with their clothing. Kuala Lumpur, September 2019 – Organized by Taiwan Ministry of Culture Bureau of Audiovisual & Musician Industry Development and Taiwan Color Music, one great showcase of the Taiwan music was held on 30^th August 2019 at KLPAC!

The showcase of the various music culture from Taiwan!

The evening was a fun-filled night featuring the outstanding performers from Taiwan including Chalaw Pasiwali 查勞巴西瓦里, Enno Cheng 鄭宜農and rock band Elephant Gym 大象体操. There was a performance by Malaysian electronic rock band Pastel Lite too.

The flavour of Taiwan Aborigine Music! Aborigine language shares similarity with Bahasa Malaysia?

Kicking off the show was Chalaw Pasiwali 查勞巴西瓦里, who is from Taiwan Aborigine tribe! He has showcased quite a number of beautiful music blended with Ami Culture. During the show, he and his band members have actively interacted with the audiences by giving cues for the audiences to join along the singing.

Apart from that, Chalaw Pasiwali also taught us a few words in Taiwan Aborigine language which sounds so similar to our very own Bahasa Malaysia. This is very notable when he counted from 1 to 10 in Taiwan Aborigine language. Out of the few numbers, there are some which sounds identical to our Bahasa Malaysia counterpart.

In addition to that, the Aborigine band also brought the excitement up when they actually invited the audience to the front to dance along in their tribe dance.

A dose of Malaysia Electronic Rock byPastel Lite!

After the performance by Chalaw Pasiwali, we were treated with a dose of Electronic Rock Music from our very own Malaysian local band Pastel Lite. It was quite a sweet performance from them!

Eff Hakim, the lead singer of the band was very thankful for the opportunity given and she’s glad to be able to collaborate with the Taiwanese artists on that night. She was able to converse in a few Mandarin words as a respectful greetings to the audiences from Taiwan.

Enno Cheng’s Mesmerizing Performance!

Another highlight of the show was the performance by singer-songwriter Enno Cheng. This was not the first time for Enno to perform in Malaysia. However, it is the first time for her to be presented to a showcase in Malaysia as a solo performer. Despite that, she also took her time to introduce the young and rising talents in her band.

She has put up a melodious performance during the night and has totally captivated the hearts of the audiences. During the show, she also hinted that she may be coming back to Malaysia again for concert. Let’s look forward for it again.

Elephant Gym 大象体操 Rock The Night!

Last but not least, the show ended with the performance by Elephant Gym 大象体操! The rock band consisted of KT Chang (Bass, Keyboard, Vocals), Tell Chang (Guitar, Keyboard, Vocals) and Chia-Chin Tu (Drums). The three of them just finished their tour in Europe before coming to Malaysia. And the performance in our shore is their last prior to their return to Taiwan.

Elephant Gym 大象体操has moved the whole crowd up with their upbeat jamming! It was amazing! During the showcase, KT Chang and Tell Chang have prepared a surprise birthday cake for Chia-Chin Tu. Everyone sang a Birthday song together for him!

Kuala Lumpur, September 2019 - The Billboard acclaimed Kpop girl group DREAMCATCHER is finally making their way to Kuala Lumpur to meet their beloved fans this 6^thSeptember 2019. In response to overwhelming fan demand on fan-initiated concert making platform MyMusicTaste, DREAMCATCHER decided to unite with their long-awaited fans in Malaysia.

‘DREAMCATCHER CONCERT : Invitation from Nightmare City in Kuala Lumpur’ already marks DREAMCATCHER’s 15th concert that was made through fan requests on MyMusicTaste, an online service that allows fans to request their favorite bands to their cities. After touring in Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, they decided to visit Malaysia and Australia, demonstrating their global fame once again.

Debuted in January 2017 with the single Nightmare, DREAMCATCHER has quickly caught the eye of music critics with their unique concept of “Young Metal” and powerful choreography. Voted no.3 on Billboard's Best New K-Pop Acts in 2017, the group’s worldwide fame has since been growing exponentially; their second EP You and I was released in 2018 and made its debut on the Billboard’s World Albums Chart at no.7.

Without losing their momentum, DREAMCATCHER continued to show their global presence. In collaboration with MyMusicTaste, DREAMCATCHER launched their first crowdfunding project for their new photo book in July 2018 and reached 555% of their funding goal. Their most recent album The End of Nightmarereceived widespread acclaim and landed at no.6 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart. DREAMCATCHER is composed of seven female members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong, and Gahyeon.

Tickets was already on sale since July 29 at 12:00 local time. Fans who requested DREAMCATCHER in Kuala Lumpur on MyMusicTaste will have access to a 20% discount.

Kuala Lumpur, September 2019 – The talented Malaysian singer Gin Lee 李幸倪has finally returned to our shore for a series of promo Tour activity in Malaysia for her latest album《浮世繪》. Kuala Lumpur was the last stop for the promo tour.

After her successful singing career in HK, Gin Lee has finally brought her latest album back to her home country. During the meet the fans session, Gin Lee mentioned that being in Berjaya Times Square helped her recall many past memories when she first debuted 10 years ago.

During the promo activity, Gin Lee also has close-up interaction with some of the lucky fans. It’s cute to see her interaction with one of the young kid fans.

Apart from performing 《浮世繪》, Gin Lee also let the fans choose one of the song to be performed LIVE. The on-ground fans chose《以愛情的罪名》 which is a very technical and difficult song to sing. Gin never disappointed the fans and has mesmerized all of the fans with her wonderful voice!

Last but not least, Gin Lee also revealed that she is currently preparing a new Cantonese song which will be released soon. She hinted that the song is a Dance Music genre. Let’s look forward to it!

Kuala Lumpur, September 2019 – The registration for nominations in one of the most anticipated Mandarin Music Awards in Malaysia,《2020 AIM 中文音乐颁奖典礼》is closed on the dateline of 17^th September 2019. This time around, the number of registration for 24 awards have achieved a new record of over 1000 registrants. The result of the final nominees is going to be revealed on November 2019!

Shio 郭修彧 and Namewee黄明志 are the two names which have topped the number of registered nominations. On the other hand, Red People, 海螺音乐and Universal Music环球音乐 are the recording labels with most registered nominations.

Another highlight would be the award for 【最佳新人奖】(Best Newcomers). The registered nominees who will be competing for the award include Jeryl Lee李佩玲, Daniel车志立, Priscilla Abby蔡恩雨, Kho Sock Ling邱诗凌and etc. It’s definitely going to be a very competitive awards show!

《2020 AIM 中文音乐颁奖典礼》is taking place next year 4^thJanuary 2020, 8pm at Menara PGRM, Star Convention Centre.

Kuala Lumpur, September 2019 – Take notes, Kpop fans! JYP Entertainment has released on their official website a new list of countries for #GOT7 World Tour and Malaysia is one of the country on the list!

“GOT7 Keep Spinning 2019 World Tour” flagged off in last June at the Seoul KSPO Dome and has toured Newark, Toronto, Dallas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Mexico City, Santiago, Sydney and Melbourne. New dates added include Singapore, Macau, Bangkok and Taipei.

The Malaysia Gig will take place on 7^thMarch 2020, at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil. This is their return after over 3-year hiatus since they last performed in Kuala Lumpur and will be a full-scale world tour concert.

GOT7 WORLD TOUR IN MALAYSIA

Date: 7^th March 2020

Venue: Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil

GOT7 is a popular Korea hip-hop boy group debuted in 2014 with the release of their first EP, “Got It?” which peaked at number two on the Gaon Album Chart and number one on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

The group consists of 7 members: Jae Bum, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom. The group has released 8 albums and received over 40 awards out of 104 nominations.
